Polar express in Pjs was fantastic. What a brilliant idea, we as a family had a great time. Staff were fantastic. We are now ready for Christmas, thank you!
Great cinema and fantastic prices! They play typical films along with event cinema (e.g ballet, opera, music) which is amazing. Good selection of food/drink Friendly staff Highly recommend supporting this historic and cosy cinema. Had an issue with the sound one visit, and staff handled it very well, understanding and made us feel listened to and looked after ☺️
Carlene E was so lovely tonight, I turned up with no Meerkat Movie code, so I was messaging everyone I knew, she asked if I was okay and she let me use hers. She was so friendly and her customer service was fantastic. Thank you Charlene, I won’t go to any other cinema again.
I wondered why the ticket prices were so low in comparison to their competitors. After what I and my partner experienced tonight was the answer we knew was inevitable. - People talking quite loudly, and I mean very distinctly. Clearly some people weren’t there for the movie and this was just a cheap night out for them. Which leads me to believe if the ticket prices were as high as the other cinemas, then they wouldn’t be so inclined to take the mickey. - Rubbish under the seat from the previous movie goers. - The seats are uncomfortable and squished together making the overall experience of sitting through a 2 hour movie quite unbearable for most people. - The lights in the cinema didn’t go out completely so it left a glare on the screen. - The sound quality from the movie was actually abysmal. You may very well find that the soundbar (sound system) at home is better. Overall I would say stay at home or pay the extra pounds to get an better experience.
Came here today (17/05/2025) to watch final destination bloodlines with my partner and was welcomed with a friendly face and welcome from the manager himself and a staff member! Brilliant customer service from everyone at this cinema. If I lived miles out I would still come back to this cinema!! Thank you for being so welcoming all of you
Last time i came to this cinema, i wasn’t given a positive experience. The film i was attending was supposed to start at 2:30. At 3:00 the film still hadn’t started and we had gone downstairs and we were told it would be 2 minutes. At this point, we were already really annoyed as we had been waiting 30 minutes. At around 3:30, an hour after the screen time we were told that the film wouldn’t be running and that we wouldn’t be given a refund. I am appalled with the service that I had received I will not be returning to this cinema.
Love this place. No frills, it's not gleaming with state of the art tech, but it's (the Cinema tickets anyway) reasonably priced , usually not stupidly busy. Kids are happy. Food is typically overpriced.
I’ve been attending this cinema since I was young. As an adult, I still love to watch the latest films. I’m 36 and I now bring my son. They have great prices and you get a great experience in a historical building. Support your local picture house!
Great little cinema. The staff were really nice and the tickets were very affordable. The 3D glasses I got were a bit knackered, but it didn't impact my enjoyment of the film
Tickets here are very cheap by today's standards, but you get what you pay for. The screen and the sound aren't great, I've actually left after some action movies thinking I'll want to watch them again at home with a better sound set up. Seats are comfortable enough. There's parking but it's very cramped so it's best to get there early. Despite refurbs it still looks very dated, but for an old timer like me, that adds nostalgic value.
