Took the kids today as only our school off on training day, so knew it would be quiet (itβs chaos when full!) the play area was so hot, the kids were soon sweaty and having to strip down. Ordered food, Β£14 for a basic tasteless burger, weird coloured beige chips and Β£6 each for basic plain kids pizza, the pizza wasnβt cut up so had to use the blunt knife to tear it up. Chips went everywhere. Food took half an hour to turn up even though only 20 people in the place. Β£30+ for food and drinks wasted.

Called at reception earlier in the month to enquire if 5 rooms were available for a family gathering. Receptionist was pleasant and I take it that it was the hotel manager eating a takeaway sandwich, sat down, in reception. I was quoted a price. 'Would there be a discount on the room as I was paying and there would be up to 18 in the restaurant later for food and drink?' The manager, still seated replied 'They don't allow us to do discounts!' So this post is more for the owners. Give your manager more discretion and motivation over the running of the hotel! A discount on the rooms would be made up on the food and drink later! Had a fantastic time at another hotel! Don't even want to think how much money I spent!

Very rude staff, I ordered a pudding and when it arrived it wasnβt what I ordered, I made the waitress aware and she took it away to be changed. The waitress that took my order then brought out the correct order and told me Iβd ordered something different and thatβs what Iβd said at the bar. Which is absolutely not the case and I told her I wasnβt going to argue with her, I found the experience very unprofessional. Needless to say I will never return, the entire place is looking very grubby and worn now too. My advice is go somewhere else!

We booked for three nights but only stayed two as we were put in room 42. Avoid room 42. Not a hotel room more of a staff annex. Dead spiders handing from the bathroom ceiling. No spare pillows and the ones we had were paper thin. The draw on the wardrobe unit was broken. Uncomfortable bed. Waited at reception while the receptionist was out the front smoking a cigarette. The cigarette was more important than customer service. The food was average at best. The restaurant booths were filthy and needed a good clean . The restaurant toilet for males had a toilet that was very loose and a accident waiting to happen. We ended up booking a Premier inn for our last night at extra cost just to get a better room and a good night's sleep before a long drive home. All in all very disappointing.

Staff were very friendly, they helped me and my group out of a tight spot when our original accommodation went out of business. Good selection of food and drinks at the bar, which had plenty of space as well. The hotel was kept very clean and tidy. Only complaints are that the decor and furniture looks a little tired and the proximity to main roads meant lots of traffic noise. However I enjoyed my stay there and am grateful to the Wishing Well for saving our holiday.

Mixed starter was good. Kids enjoyed their margarita pizzas. The burgers were burnt, very dry. Corn on the cob was over cooked and smelled wrong. Carvery - the meat was very chewy, limited choice on veg, the mash potato tasted funny and the broccoli was just mush.

We went to the Wishing Well today for my 70th birthday that my daughter had booked. 17 adults,3 children and a baby. I was a bit apprehensive as Iβd read some of the reviews about not having certain things The food not been up to scratch - greasy chips ect. All I can say is our food was perfectly fine. Considering that there was a list of different food ordered everyone enjoyed their meal. The girl on the bar serving us was very busy as she was on her own serving all 20 drinks. She really worked her socks off.and was pleasant all the time. She even helped serve out food when it was ready . Later on She even brought out my birthday cake Will be be going back

The 1 star is for the polite staff. What has happened to the food. The pizza was like snot going down your throat. It lacked taste. Everything was so greasy and soggy, even the chips. The breakfast was dry like everything had been under the heater. Β£25 wasted. It never used to be like this.

Wanted to score this higher but couldn't. Drinks ok. Food service slow and lacked attention to detail, no cutlery brought to table with food. Food average, mega mixed grill good, Cajun chicken stack dry. On the upside my 4 year old grandson enjoyed the indoor and outdoor play equipment.
