   Stayed here for a night for my first time in York and loved it. The hotel location is very convenient as it's right next to the station and shops. The staff are lovely and accommodating; kept my food in their fridge and reheated it for me. The room was clean bed was very comfortable and had a tea corner. The TV connects to mobile so was able to watch Netflix/YouTube! Also the breakfast was great. Would stay again next time I'm in York.

   The hotel is in a wonderful location, just a few meters from the train station. The room was good, but there were many stairs to access it. My room was in another building. There's never anyone at reception. Breakfast was reasonable, but there were no cheese options. The housekeeping service was terrible. I arrived at my room and the toilet was dirty and clogged. I reported this to reception after waiting about 10 minutes for someone to appear. I asked for the room to be cleaned and the toilet issue to be resolved. When I returned, the only thing they did was put the duvet back on the bed, nothing else. I found the housekeeper and asked her to clean it, please, because I had asked and it hadn't been done. She said I had to ask again at reception or that I could unclog it myself and gave me the toilet brush. This is absurd.

   I stayed in 2 rooms over 2 weeks for 3 nights in total while in York for business. The rooms although bed and amenities are comfortable and sufficient the room needs a good scrub, the bathrooms need attention and the overall building needs some TLC. The staff are at a minimal so service is very slow. The cooked breakfast was cold all 3 days. I cant offer much more about this experience other than it certainly wasnt worth the money. I would not recommend here. The best thing was the location to station and town.

   I'll start by saying I don't regret staying here. The bed is very comfortable and my room was quiet. The location was excellent, right by the train station and a the city walls, a short walk into downtown. I also had great service from the desk staff. That said, I was a bit surprised by the state of some things. When I came into the building where my room was located, I was greeted by a musty smell and very worn out carpets and walls, plus a dirty elevator. My room didn't feel finished when I came in, I had to ask for new bedding and spot cleaning cause it seemed unfinished. The towels smell funny, the bathroom fan is very noisy, and there's nowhere to put your hand towel. The carpet and walls in my room were in a bad state. Also, the wifi was abysmal, which was very frustrating as I tried to get myself sorted. Overall it was a good choice for my stay, I just think some basic elements of an acceptable room need to be put in place.

   Arrival a bit ropey. Rooms not ready. Receptionist very unhelpful and uninterested. You have to go next door for breakfast (south) they are much friendlier. No tea bags at all in North. Mattress didn't fit bed base and was very old. Sheets didn't fit. But it is what it is.

   Rooms were clean and comfy, great for the price. Location is good for the price but still a 15 min walk into the centre - but I knew this before I booked so no real complaints there. However, I was annoyed to be told that my room was ready when I arrived at 2.15, but if I wanted to check in I would have to pay £10 extra as it was before 3pm. I understand this for checking in hours early but 45 minutes feels pretty harsh.

   There are some very mixed reviews for this hotel but we had no issues at all. The room was easily the largest Premier Inn room we've stayed in, the corridors are wide enough to drive a car through and everywhere was spotlessly clean. There was aircon which we didn't use, a rainfall shower, plenty of TV channels to choose from and a fairly reliable if somewhat slow Internet. The only slight negative was the price of the car park at £14 per night but that's about the going rate in York where everything is expensive. We would be very happy to stay there again and would recommend it.

   Standard room was a great size, quite roomy even! My only feedback (not bad) is that the TV wouldn’t go higher than 15, assuming this is fixed and has been tested for noise across other rooms. Couldn’t hear the film properly! The air con had a rattle but luckily I brought my ear plugs. Was a little odd that I felt obligated to donate money in order to have my luggage stored whilst we went out. Not a bad thing as it’s going to a good cause however I’ve never been to a hotel where the staff made you donate your change to drop suitcases off! Anyway- I shall return in the near future :)

   Excellently placed on top of the city centre without being in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Close to some of the ancient walls, cobbled streets and a monastery. Further south is a small high street, as well as a beautifully classic Art Deco cinema - the Everyman. Hotel was wonderfully quiet and peaceful. Air con an absolute life-saver during the summer heat. Clean, tidy, very comfortable beds. Service were polite and helpful. Greatly enjoyed my stay there.
