   We had a lovely stay, very friendly staff on reception. Good cooked breakfast. Room was very spacious, with the biggest of beds !! However, it was too hot , we turned the radiator off, but it made no difference, it felt like we were sleeping in a sauna , quite uncomfortable and unbearable at times. I opened the window, being on a ground floor , not ideal but necessary. Other than that, would recommend.

   Feeling scammed! We have stayed here before and as our daughter lives locally, would have been likely to stay again quite regularly. Unfortunately, the argumentative receptionist has just lost the hotel a customer who would visit several times a year. Previously we had booked and received free parking. The surprise this time was being hit with a parking charge when the website states free parking if you book direct. As I am aware of this hotel’s existence, I go straight to its website to book a room, this time, my booking was somehow redirected to an identical third party site hence being slapped with the charge. Receptionist was adamant that I had booked through a different website rather than theirs. Having been previously advised to book direct, I always go to their website. A quick google search and up pops an explanation of how this scam works. Receptionist hinted she was aware of this problem but refused to back down and refused to continue the discussion dismissing me. A simple solution could have resulted in us having a more positive experience, instead, next time, we go elsewhere if they are not bothered about customers having a positive experience.

   A very welcoming hotel who readily met all of our 2 couples needs. The hotel is so close to york centre, its an easy flat 10 min walk. 2 ground level rooms, as requested, 18 and19, were both very clean with shower toiletries and soaps provided. Tea coffee and biscuits were also in room. The breakfast was everything you could need. The self service provided a wide range of continental and table service provided an excellent cooked full English. The car park was great with free parking if booking direct with the hotel. Also we had a reduced rate for booking direct, saving 30.00 on 2 rooms plus car. Above all the relationship between hotel staff and guests was outstanding. They could not have done more for us. In particular Jack (John) on night shift and Gemma on Reception and restaraunt really made a big difference by making sure we had the extras we were looking for.

   Home from home and will be back! Lovely, friendly, helpful, genuine staff that work hard and are a credit to The Minster. Rooms clean and more than sufficient. Very happy with the bed and had an excellent sleep! Breakfast plentiful with prompt and friendly service. The location is a 10 min walk from train station and 5 min walk to the Shambles. Loved it!

   We arrived at 11am and went straight to the hotel to ask to leave our luggage but instead was allowed to check-in early at no extra charge because the room was ready. Reception was very accommodating and pleasant. Room was spacious and had a ensuite bath but was located on the top floor. There was no lift on that wing and the last set of stairs was a bit narrow/winding. The hotel was maybe a 5-10min walk to the main shopping area. It was quiet during the night, they have a good breakfast selection the next morning and Reception kindly let us leave our luggage after check-out for later pick-up. All in all a great overnight stay at the Minster Hotel.

   Staff were lovely and attentive. Hotel was warm and clean our rooms were lovely. Just an observation and possibly because of covid rules, but we stayed two nights and the hotel doesn't clean the room for the second night's stay. Other than tgat, it was lovely.

   We booked the Minster Hotel because of its location and on site parking. We were welcomed on our arrival and our room was fine; I think it worth mentioning that there is no lift which could be an issue for anyone with limited mobility. Following the pandemic the rooms are not being serviced unless something is requested - clean towels etc. this was not a problem for us but I do wonder a bit how long "Covid" will cast its shadow across the hospitality industry. We had breakfast at the hotel every day and it's absolutely wonderful, there's the usual buffet or fabulous (and delicious) cooked options. If we ever find ourselves in York again I would certainly book at The Minster Hotel again.

   The staff were so kind and welcoming and accommodating. The service at the desk and at the restaurant was impeccable and put smiles on our faces. The room and bed were very comfortable, and the location was quite and lovely and convenient.
