The room we had was basic, two single beds. Painted battle ship grey which made it very uninviting, change the colour to something warmer, grey does not hide the dirt. It was freezing cold, a small oil filled heater was provided, but not much cop. There was a radiator behind the headboard and on a timer, but not timed for when we were there, after tea time. No radiator in bathroom to dry towels. Crisp white cotton sheets made it impossible to sleep properly, they were stone cold, I had to put a fluffy throw on the bed to sleep on, thankfully there was a extra blanket. Toiletries we're provided, as much tea/coffee as you wanted. No reception, so no staff on site. Checking in was very easy though. The door to the room did not fit the hole there was a gap all the way around, I'm sure this must break some fire safety code, I had to use the curtain tie backs as a draft excluder. There is too much furniture in this room, large double wardrobe, small chest of drawers and large chest of drawers, non of which we used. This room has so much potential. There was a small fridge, came in very handy. The property is 30 minutes walk into york centre or the bus stop is right outside. There are no facilities for breakfast. The property does not allow alcohol to be consumed on the premises, I assume for religious beliefs, that's fine by me, but as we were leaving we found out the the room opposite us was for live in staff, the door was open and we spied a waist bin full of beer cans. This review might sound really bad, but the room wasn't that bad, it was strangely ok. We paid Β£170 for 3 nights for two people, so I guess you get what you pay for.

The room was not clean on arrival. The floor and the toilet windowsills were dirty, and the shower was unclean, with something visibly stuck to it. Overall, the standard of cleanliness was unacceptable. Considering the price of Β£150, this was extremely poor value for money. My partner and I did not sleep at all due to how uncomfortable the bed was. I eventually had to get up at 4:05am because I was experiencing pain in my back and neck. This stay fell well below expectations, and I would not recommend it. On arrival a mobile phone number was on the door, phoned and the proprietor could not get logged in. Asked about parking, no spaces available had to park at the Indian restaurant and pay Β£14. Paying Β£150 for a small cramped room and then Β£14 for parking it was an expensive day break. After being advised to park the car first, then proprietor would ring me back, this did not happen, I had to ring him back. Very poor customer service.

Given the price this property is great - clean, all the amenities and close to downtown. However, as another reviewer mentioned, the room is TINY and cool until you run the space heater. Managemt can be unresponsive - I was promised more soap and never got it. But overall, given the price and quality of the room, these complaints are minor.

We got wrong pin for enter inside and if you want to come in a room you should call. But problem is we tried to call several times on the number which found on the door. And it was no answer. I don't know why. We found another number after looking our booking information. But if you want to get pin codes, you should call them even you already paid for everything. But fortunately, our managers fix it very quickly. Room is fine for their money. We didn't expect luxury.:) but pillows may be softer. :) Rooms is clean. Towels, gels shampoo even conditioner were pleasant surprise.

I stayed at Dimond Villa and overall had a pleasant experience. The room was clean and comfortable, though it would have been better if basic toiletries like a toothbrush had been provided. The location is a bit far from the city center, but that also makes it peaceful and quietβ€”perfect if you want to relax away from the crowds. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, especially with my late check-in, which I really appreciated.

We stayed for two nights at Diamonds Villa, check in was done remotely over a phone call but was very quick and simple. Our room was spacious and clean, well-stocked with condiments and had a large bathroom. Was great quality for a low price. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone looking for a good, low cost room in York.

Everything was done remotely and very impersonal, the room was very tired looking and smelt strongly of nicotine, amongst many things there was a hair straightener burn mark in the carpet, and electrical trunking hanging off the wall. The cleaner rudely woke us up by hammering on the door over an hour before checkout time was due, asking when we are leaving. The room was warm and the bed was comfortable. So it was Okay. You don't get much for Β£140 anymore.

We arrived 30 minutes earlier than arranged and they allowed us into our rooms , great service. The location is 1 miles from York minster and is good value accommodation. We had room 9 which is huge with a big bathroom. Tea making facilities, parking on site is Β£7.

No one in the reception made us a bit anxious. Although there was a good portable heater, the central heating was completely off, and the bathroom was too cold. No hair dryer Too many rules - no alcohol consumption, no takeaway food May be good as a budget hotel, but Β£130 without breakfast is not so cheap at all

No one there when we arrived and the pin number we were given for the door didn't work. I had to phone the mobile and get instructions to get in our room #8. Thankfully there was a parking space for us and we were told to leave Β£7 in the room. We knew we had to pay in advance but there are actually parking spaces with the house so that's money they have pocketed. This place needs a good scrubbing. There was a brown blob of some description on the bedroom wall and one of the drawers in the bedside cabinet was full of rubbish. There was a faint smell of cigarette smoke in the room too. The bathroom is also grubby with mould all over and the blinds look ancient. The plug for the bath was on the top of the wardrobe - not sure if they were hiding it cos they didn't want us to have a bath? On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable and clean, the TV was good with a good choice of channels. Overall it didn't feel clean, was overpriced for what we got and we wouldn't recommend.
