This pub is filthy β€” the place itself is dirty and the kitchen is even worse. On top of that, the owner is often drunk and creates a really unpleasant atmosphere. I’ve witnessed him making racist remarks and inappropriate sexual comments towards staff, which was shocking to see. The way staff are spoken to is appalling and completely unprofessional. It’s not a safe or welcoming environment at all. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I’d advise reporting it to Environmental Health.

Stopped by as a biker and had free buffet if buying drinks. Old and quaint building.

I used this hotel the night before my wedding, staff were extremely polite and helpful couldn't fault in anyway. Food provided was great, and would highly recommend to anyone. Has beautiful lawn to relax outside and just a great location.

Really nice hotel friday night buffet is spot on and rooms clean and tidy. Breakfast is a set meal or cereals but really nice. Will be staying again soon.

This is a wonderful venue for any celebration, however, a little more effort could have been made to clear ice and compacted snow from the entrance and carpark.

APPALLING! Start with the outside: very overgrown, hasn't seen a gardener in a while, pot holes everywhere so ladies watch out for your shoes as you gingerly make your way to the front door. No front desk as such so if no one is there to greet you, which was the case for us, you have to shout 'hello' a few times hoping that someone will hear you. First thing they want you to do is pay for the room, we understood why later on. We had 2 rooms and needed to get ready for a party we were going to. The carpet in both rooms was very dirty and stained, the decor dated, the room freezing. My daughter went to start the shower in her room and quickly realise that: 1- it wouldn't turn on easily, 2- when they managed it, there was no pressure, 3- there was no hot water, 4- very difficult to turn off, had to get help from the guy behind the bar. I was below in the lounge area and could hear drip, drip so went to investigate and realised that just below my daughter's bedroom, the ceiling was collapsing and water dripping down onto sofas and carpet. Clearly that shower was a problem and not a new one, it doesn't take 5 minutes for the ceiling to be so full of water it collapses. My daughter had to come to our room for a shower. The guy behind the bar didn't look too surprised, was trying to get help on the phone from the owner but didn't get through, apparently. We said we would expect some sort of compensation to which he replied he would do his best, non committal. The next day the owner was there, at first pretending he didn't know anything about it then kept saying that my daughter did get her shower so had nothing to complain about. She did have a shower, in OUR room, not in the one that she paid for! He wouldn't recognise that, very thick headed person. Needless to say there was no compensation to be had and he was so obnoxious, we didn't want to stay and argue. Crux of the matter is we DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel, STAY AWAY and find a much better place to stay at which there are plenty of in the area.

Very poor room, shabby opened a drawer the front fell off. Bed not great to sleep in, curtains not black out and thin. Water took ages to get hot for a bath. Carpet was a trip hazard. Dog hairs on carpet. No hairdryer. Dogs staying in hotel. Expensive for the standard. Was not offered help with suitcase with a disabled partner with me. No information given on arrival apart from time of breakfast not were it would be served. There was a left drink in dirty windowsill going upstairs to room. Carpet on stairs was dirty. Then on window ledge outside room a left roll up cigarette. Dirty laundry in hallway piled up. Went down for a drink , seating was very tatty like cats and dogs had damaged them and on a sofa opposite blue paper towels left from cleaning something. It was a surprise break for my birthday and I felt disappointed. No welcome at breakfast no staff to explain what the process was, then finally a waitress appeared. No option for eggs. Checking in table a disgrace. I used the bar toilets before leaving I nearly fell off the toilet as the seat wasn't fixed. The tiles cracked and the lock on the door didn't work. Place seriously needs to decide what it wants to be it's supposed to be a wedding venue but I wouldn't hold a wake here it's disgusting dirty and very shabby.

Very disappointed. Room was very old and dilapidated. Shower was just a trickle and wastes so much water waiting for it to heat up! Bathroom is awful, falling apart and no finishing touches at all. The bed was awful, felt like it was going to collapse. Very loud music playing until the early hours each night, we had to put the TV on to drown the sound out to try and get a little bit of sleep. It sounded like a party going on directly outside our room. We were never told about this. The lobby and stairs are very dirty and old and dilapidated. Breakfast was okay, just your standard cooked breakfast and cereal choices. Nothing special though. Will definitely NOT be staying here again!

Really really disappointing. Walked in bar area looked amazing. This is then ruined by some dirty couches all work, dog marks all around them. It was a real contrast. Welcome was ok, no info given about breakfast location. The room was shabby, room 1. No plug sockets near bed, so provided fan was pointless. Room cluttered, ripped carpet. Bathroom ok. If your disabled the stairs are steep and filthy. We went for a drink in the bar, dogs allowed, locals glaring at you. We went back upstairs. Morning arrived, breakfast we found, no one to greet us. Breakfast was fine, no yogurt, fruit pastry's. We wanted to speak to someone but no one around, apart from a waitress rushed off her feet. We left so disappointed, wished I'd just gone to a chain group.
