Stayed two nights but didn't sleep a wink. The noise from people moving around above was unbelievable. Creaky floors with hard coverings mean someone getting up going to the loo at 3am sounds like a herd of elephants. I don't know if this was just our room (6), or if it applies to others with someone above. It's a shame because in other respects the hotel was good; easy to reach off the M1, the staff we met seemed really nice, and room was well furnished and clean. Sadly, if you can't sleep, all the good points count for nothing...

Stayed here one night on my own and on my way to nottingham. Checked in arround 8 pm but at 7:30 received a text message asking for an ETA. I thought this was a bit odd as I messaged them when booking saying that I would arrive between 8 and 8:30. My initial impression of the room was great and it had a view over the garden which was nice. Ordered mc donalds from around the corner and settled in for the night. I ended up waking up every 2 hours or so due to noise. Not from the surrounding area but from my own bed. As I turned it would creak really loud waking me up. The shower in the morning saved it. There was a style that sprays water at you from every direction. It was so good im looking to get one at home. Overall it was pretty good for the price.

So full disclosure, a friend of ours was getting married at the hotel down the road. Rooms were a crazy price and by the time I went to book they were all booked anyway. Came across this place on a holiday booking website for a really cheap price, only then to have friends at work tell me its a dive and not to stay. Simply put, dont listen to friends! This place is absolutely stunning! The bar and hotel are run as seperate businesses but by the same family so its all well interlinked. The rooms have clearly had time attention and money spent on them to make them look practical, fresh and modern as well as being spotlessly clean. What I have found out though is the elusive room 14 that has a giant 4 poster bed, bath, robes and all the other fancy bits. Next time I will absolutely be booking this out for a bit of R&R! The bar and resturant are based downstairs and again absolutely stunning staff, really friendly and care about their customers. The place was actually bookes out for a 21st the night we were there but made us feel really at ease and pointed out we were more than welcome to grab a bench in the corner for a few drinks. Given how reasonable the prices were and how good the company was we nearly missed the wedding! Additionally, Sunday is the day to be around. Its the only day they offer a breakfast menu (if you are stopping midweek there is a cafe literally next door) but again the quality of the breakfast was so good and included a drink all for a tenner! I need to come back to try the Sunday roast though as when I walkes through in the morning I could see them prepping the batter mix for the yorkies by hand, I need to see if they taste as good as they look!

A well run independent business, itβs clear the management are putting a huge effort into making this a great place to come for food/drinks/accommodation. Super value. Our room (15) was lovely and exceeded our expectations given the price. The lady running the bar and her partner (the chef) could not have been friendlier, or more accommodating. If ever we need a room in this area, a return visit would be our first choice - hands down.

My and my family enjoy going to the Renishaw (restaurant side of it, not hotel) as we live in the village and the is absolutely to die for. We mainly go for pie and a pint night and for home made pies which have a variation of types including Vegetarian and gluten free, chips, peas and gravy with a pint included for ONLY Β£10. Literally cannot grumble at that. The staff are super polite and table service is fantastic. Will continue to return for this great deal and for the lovely service provided. Thank you.

A good price hotel, yet was charged a late arrival fee of Β£10 which made it less good value. We had given an arrival time at booking. Nothing was said about incurring extra costs. Furthermore, the mention of extra cost was our greeting, even before a 'Hello' we had just driven 90 miles. The place was adequate but disappointing.

We came as a group of 10 yesterday for the 90s fest and stayed at the lovely hotel. Couldn't fault the hotel or the staff, very clean and lovely room, very accommodating and friendly staff. The food was amazing! The pizza is the best pizza I've ever had! Our first time coming and won't be the last. Thank you for a fab stay!

Just stayed at this lovely hotel. Lovely views and nice location. Rooms were clean and spacious but what really made the stay awesome was the staff. They really went above and beyond and covered our every need. Our group of 10 got brilliant service from start to finish and they even mixed with our group. Would definitely recommend and will try and revisit sometime soon.
