   This is a great Premier Inn and we have stayed here several times. The original restaurant has been replaced with Premium rooms and a smaller breakfast/evening meal restaurant. The smaller restaurant is ok for a quick evening snack and provides a good hearty breakfast...however... and this is why we have only given 3 stars.. The Premium rooms are very nicely furnished but the heating is very poor indeed. It was 12 degrees in our room and even after an hour of turning the heating on it did not warm up. The staff did everything they possibly could to help us but we ended up moving to one of the older rooms which were lovely and warm.

   We stayed for one night it was lovely the room was clean and fresh the beds were lovely and comfortable. The social was a great atmosphere, the music was just the right volume and the music was calm We had evening meal at the social which was delicious the staff couldnt do enough for us, there were only two members on at the time Katie (sorry if thats not the right spelling) and Paul they were both so very friendly and amazing at their job they gave us recommendations and also made a point to talk to my two daughters about the card game they were playing. We felt so welcome thankyou Katie and Paul!

   A group trip up for a taekwondo competition and we had a fantastic host in Katy at the restaurant, Katy went above and beyond over the two nights we stayed including after a trip to a and e that she made my kids feel safe and secured while we was away. Food was great and quick service. Beds comfortable as always 5* all round

   We came to visit family for two nights and stayed here, with three wheelchair users. The doors to the corridoors are not disabled friendly, they are heavy and it was very difficult navigating a wheelchair, suitcases and the door, or just the chair and the door. The door to my room would not lock and could be easily pushed open, this was reported twice and not corrected, there were items under the bed that had been left by guests before us. However the manager was lovely and allowed for my family and I to have drinks on the Sunday night, in the bar. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable.

   Lovely, clean room. Nice comfy bed and a great shower. Can’t fault it Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming Downside- the restaurant meal was terrible. Surrounding tables not cleared away. Very loud and raucous drinkers at the bar. The food was truly awful. Reheated or microwaved, not sure which but utterly tasteless and dry. An £11 salad barely covered the dish it was thrown into. The staff member dealt with our subsequent food complaint with understanding and respect. So thumbs up there but would not recommend this resto when there are so many good ones nearby

   Decor is slightly old and its visible on the furniture and bathroom doors. The floor boards are squeaking and making noise from top floor when guest above tour rooms are walking which was quite annoying at night during stay. The staff was very courteous, well mannered and helpful.

   Had meal here last Saturday night with 2 friends , meals were good with good portions , only disappointment was me and my friend usually have a Baileys coffee after but they didn't do them when our hubbies went to bar for them ,they were given 2 mugs with Baileys in and were told to top up with coffee from machine they were luke warm and tasted awful ,not same not being in glass and topped with cream , just a little complaint but thought I'd mention .

   Staff are very welcoming and so kind We were getting married at the register office in Barnsley when we arrived back at the hotel there was a bottle of Prosecco, chocolates and a card in our room how very thoughtful the hotel is very well run great location

   The room was spotless as was the en suite. The bed was a king size and extremely comfortable. The staff were very helpful. We booked and pre-paid for breakfast and there was an excellent selection and very well cooked. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

   Very Disappointed. We travel a fair bit and have used Premier Inn quite a lot. I can safely say this is the worst Premier I have stayed at. The biggest issue for us was the staff the evening of our arrival. Not a smile in the place, receptionist didn't even say hello, restaurant staff more or less threw our dinner at us and any questions were answered with curt one or two word answers. There was much huffing and puffing. To be really clear though....the staff the following morning were lovely, a complete contrast. In the restaurant, the waiting staff wouldn't (or couldn't) answer questions about the meal deal and pointed us to the bar staff, who also didn't know the answers and said 'your waiter should have told you this', as if it was our fault they hadn't. The food was OK but there were several items unavailable including the deserts we wanted, sadly. Finally the room we were given smelled of drains. We had no issues being moved other than more huffing and puffing from the receptionist who clearly didn't want to be there. The room we moved to had failed air con ... set to 16 degrees but acutal temp in the room never got below 28. Really not a pleasant stay. Won't go back.
