When I scanned one item’s barcode at the self-checkout, the machine didn’t recognise it. Luckily, a staff member came over to assist but couldn’t scan it either. She then said, “If you know the price, you can buy it. Otherwise, just leave it.” I found this response quite unhelpful, especially from an experienced staff member who could have easily checked the price or asked a colleague for assistance. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first poor experience I’ve had here. On another occasion, I had to wait a long time at the kiosk to purchase tobacco while several other customers were also waiting to process Amazon returns and Uber or Just Eat collections. Some customers even left after waiting too long. I understand that busy days can be challenging, but this seems to be a recurring issue, which suggests poor management or staffing arrangements. If the store is unable to provide proper service across multiple facilities, it might be worth reviewing how these are managed, customers should not have to experience repeated inconvenience because of operational inefficiencies.

This store is the closest to where I live so i often shop here. However I have been repeatedly followed and repeatedly accused off shoplifting. I have put in a couple if official complaints to Asda which resulted in me once receiving a £10 voucher. Being a big man of mixed race I'm constantly racially profiled in there and get treated completely different to my wife who is white and middle class. The most recent was just a couple of weeks ago. I had just paid for items at the self service till and was getting a member of staff to remove the security tags when the security guard shouts across the store and says "make sure he pays for the Gin and the Hot Chocolate thats in his bag!" I felt so humiliated as everyone in store started to stare towards me and talk in low voices to each other. I said to the guard, " excuse me, are you trying to accuse me of shoplifting" and his answer was "you haven't paid for everything." I had. I also hadn't even attempted to leave the store yet but he was adamant I was a thief. It took the member of staff who I was talking to to say he has, he's one of our regulars, he's always in here and always pays. The guard didn't look happy and in no way shape or form did he offer an apology. This is ridiculous coming from a store that I spend at least £20- £100 pounds in on a daily basis and have done for the 3 years since I bought a house in this area. Also this store allows the use of Scan and go but you are not trusted to scan a £00.30 pence carrier bag. A staff member keeps hold of them all delaying your quick shop. When you requst one they come over and scan it themselves not allowing or trusting you to do it yourself. I have also taken alcohol to the tobacco and alcohol counter but they've refused to serve me saying I need to go to self serve as I'm not buying cigarettes. I take it and pay at the self scan where I then have to wait for them to come and approve that I am over 18. They say to me "I will remove the security tags once you've paid." I then have to.wait on them for another few minutes to come and check that I have indeed paid, at which point she takes the alcohol over to the original tobacco and alcohol counter to take the tag off. The way this place is run is an absolute joke. I will probably get barred for life now because of this review!

Great little store, conveniently located for essentials. Shame there's no electric charging even though competitors, Lidl and Tesco have had them for years. It's 2023.

Went today to buy a baguette. They all had best before the 29th of September. I asked the girl if they had any fresh ones she stated that they were fresh in today. When I pointed out best before the 29th meant before, not the actual day it was now and also that they were rock hard she got all uppity with me. Needs training in customer service.

Nice clean mini supermarket. But the tills are ridiculous. Only one open most of the time, the rest are self-service! Not as many products on sale as the much bigger stores but it covers all the basics and more. And it has a mini bakery.
