Perfect for our needs. We met up with friends and visited the Chatsworth Christmas Market. The staff were friendly and very approachable. Our room was clean, with a kingsize bed, huge bathroom with shower.

We stopped in the carpark overnight in our campervan and would like to thank the host for offering this as a facility for campervans and motorhomes. Dinner was very good, breakfast was excellent, staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating of our request for a quiet table to help our dog to settle. Will definitely stop here again.

We received a very nice welcome from all the staff, who were attentive and friendly. The room was perfectly comfortable and well equipped for a one night stay, clean and comfortable. The shower room has clearly been recently modernised. We didn't eat dinner in the pub but a nice drink in the attractive and spacious beer garden, and breakfast was good value with plenty of options, and again served by very attentive and pleasant staff. There is a fair bit of road noise, particularly as we had the window open on a warm August night. There was plenty of car park space. Baslow is a very attractive village with lots of good walking around, as well as Chatsworth next door. We may well come back!

Maz and crew were great hosts for the 2 nights we stayed! The rooms were clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Rooms had a hairdryer, shampoo and body wash and an iron was available. Close proximity to the bus station and footpath to Chatsworth House. Itβs about a 25 minute walk from the front door of the hotel to Chatsworth House. Several dining options within a short walk. Wouldnβt recommend getting off at the Grindleford train stop for this hotel, as taxis were nonexistent. Chesterfield is a better option as there is a bus that runs from the train station to right by the hotel. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area!

We had an evening meal here and very much enjoyed. The food was delicious and worth the price. The atmosphere is lovely here, especially sitting outside in the summer. When seated inside we were provided table service which was very efficient. The staff were polite and friendly. We will definitely be returning.

Stayed for 2 nights. Room 5 was lovely, spacious and warm even with snow and cold weather outside. The bed was very comfortable. Some noise from upstairs, like a kid running around in the evening and early morning but not constantly. The staff were really friendly. The evening menu had plenty of choice and the food was very nice. There's a few boardgames you can sit and play in the bar area too. Breakfast was ok but nothing to write home about, basic selection of continental with some things on the menu missing like fresh yoghurt. Only black tea or coffee available so had to ask for other options separately. The cooked breakfast was ok. Appears to be dog friendly pub. Generally a nice atmosphere throughout. Plenty of parking. Good location for walks in the area. Would consider staying there again.

Since my last visit the rooms have been refurbished. The room was spotless ane the bed very comfy. Tea, coffee making facilities were available and biscuits. Bathroom was spotless and everywhere smelt really nice. 100% improvement from my last stay. If more teas and coffees needed this was no trouble, the housekeeper was very helpful. Breakfast was very good and well worth the money. Definitely worth staying here if u enjoy walking in the peaks.

We had a wonderful stay with our family. A beautiful walk to Chatsworth House which is literally a stones throw away! Back at the pub we were treated to a delicious menu. I highly recommend the Signature Burger. Staff were friendly and attentive! We will be back!

Christmas 2022. Book to come here for Christmas Day in early November and the menus looked good. We were staying in the village for Christmas and as a treat we decided to have Christmas dinner at this pub⦠my wife was really looking forward to it but the main course was so disappointing. Vegetable boiled so they turned to mush. My wife complained to the waitress who in turn complained to the manager Richard who refused to speak to us.. Sorry, not a place we will be coming back too.

I had never stayed above a pub before and was somewhat hesitant but it was super quiet and peaceful! The room was so comfortable, nicely decorated and spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and well maintained. There was no issue with road noise as the secondary glazing was super effective which I was delighted to see, as it enabled the retention of the timber sash windows. The lady who checked us in couldnβt have been more helpful and friendly but I did find it odd when we were checking out that the other lady didnβt even bother to ask how our stay was or wish us a nice day. Just something to consider!
