'Dont forget to duck' being 5'10" im glad they make you use an helmet. That being said, the kids (10 and 3) loved it. Fantastic walk around the cave. We finished up by having food in the cafe. And wow, was the food delicious. I had a bacon and sausage sandwich then saw my wife's hotdogs and went back for one too. Stunning food. I'd travel another 1h35m just for the food

Had an absolutely fantastic time at Stump Cross Caverns yesterday evening. The UV cave experience was incredible. The cave is great with the normal lighting, but even better in UV light... I am definitely going to do it again, and highly recommend it! This was followed by an interesting talk by Tom from the Craven Pothole Club, about the excavations on the new chamber. We also had the Yorkshire pudding wrap in the cafe, which was perfect on a grim, rainy day. Everyone was lovely, welcoming and informative. Many thanks, I can't wait to visit again!

Fantastic trip out for several hours on a stormy weekend. There was ample parking and the shop/cafe entrance area was incredibly inviting with a warm fire, a great array of souvenirs and delicious food. The carverns were wet (as expected) with a few drips but hard hats provided kept the head dry. They were great to explore with a lovely trail for little ones to do as you walked around. Some fascinating formations, well worth a visit!

Went here with my son for a day out on the weekend. Parking is great, loads of spaces and had no trouble getting a spot. The inside of the building is a big mix of gift shop, cafe and check-in for the cave so it wasnt clear where we should have been going to get booked in. Once we found the check-in we purchased our ticket and the women who served us was incredibly nice and made us feel welcomed and excited to go down below. The cave itβs self it very tight but that is to be expected, there are a had full of seats while your down there if you need to sit down. Side note - donβt wear pants or shoes you donβt want to get dirty, the ground water has lime stone sediment in it so it will leave white marks on your shoes. The gift shop sells an incredible assortment of stones and crystals, it does say they are from the cave and suspect they arenβt. They donβt sell you standard gift shop items such as pens, pins and patches which is a shame because they are what most people collect as a reminder, I was looking to buy all 3 but ended up leaving with no souvenirs. Overall it was a pleasent experience, mainly due to the quality of the cave and the customer service of the staff. The contents of the shop could do with expanding as if you donβt like stones to buy them you donβt have anything to buy essentially.

Such an incredible and unique experience! We loved the caves - they are breathtaking. Lovely little caffe and a great gift shop too! The staff are great and helpful. Definitely plan in advance how you will get here - if you are relying on public transport it would be best to sort that out first before booking! Great for an array of ages although some spaces can be quite tight and you have to bend over quite a bit (Iβm about 5β5) - so that is just something to keep in mind. However for all who are fit and able, I highly recommend a visit :)

Whether you're looking for a rainy day activity or just the diversity and wonders of nature you find in the area do check out the caves. If you're tall there's a lot of bending in tunnels but worth it. Plus you get a hard hat. Water proof clothes and footwear will keep you warm and dry. The cafe does a great all day breakfast and the hot chocolate is some of the best I've ever tasted.

We went with friends today and both families had a fantastic time. The owner was out and about greeting people, dressed as a cave lady, interacted with the visitors and made it more personal. Staff were very friendly and approachable and went above and beyond when showing the children fossils and other stones. The food looked very appetizing and was reasonably priced. We had coffee and cake as there was a decent selection of cakes. The caves themselves were fascinating with loads of facts dotted around everywhere, keeping the children interested whilst walking around, topped off with a quiz that the children could participate in and get a prize at the end. Well worth a visit and we will be back again.

Had a great afternoon at Stump Cross Caverns, I highly recommend a visit. You start by having a safety brief but also information on the cave which was well presented. You then head down grab yourself a helmet and follow your map. The map is easy to read and the caves are easy to follow. The flooring off the cave has been made into walk ways making it easier to navigate. The fact that the cavern is easy to navigate means you can spend more time absorbing your surroundings then staring at a map! Also if you see little fairy houses with doors, open the doors it's an awesome little touch! Lastly the food here is FANTASTIC! I would come back just for the cafe if I'm honest. I had a sausage roll which was made in the traditional way with a home made chutney. My wife had creme egg waffles w/ ice cream, my god the best waffles I've ever had! Overall a great visit. Thank you.

A very oldΒ limestoneΒ cave system that's worth visiting if you are not claustrophobic. The temperature dropped to 7 degrees Celsius inside the cave and be sure to wear appropriate clothing. Some parts of the cave is quite low and you will have to bend down to walk through. Not suitable for people with weak knees. The cave itself is very interesting due to the natural formation (+ effective lighting) and the exploration activities for the children. Give them a visit if you are at the Yorkshire Dales.

An absolute MUST visit place, everyone is so enthusiastic and friendly. The caverns are such an interesting visit, especially with the UV torches! I won't add loads of pictures as you really need to see for yourself, it's amazing. You could do a full day out here as they also have a 4k cinema along with the fantastic cafe. Great for children too, they have The Cavewoman on hand to explain about the caverns! The Time Cafe is fab too, all home made dishes with fresh ingredients, a triumph in itself, absolutely delicious. Admission to the cavern was a PR visit but this is my honest review.
