“Oakwood cinema always manage to choose excellent films. We have never been disappointed. If we don't manage to see the films (being away) we buy them on line and have a film night at home. Cheaper and more convenient than going to other cinemas. Drink and popcorn always available.”

“Good size. Not absolutely massive but cosy and a good number of seats. Well decorated. Well maintained, doesnt feel like its falling to bits like some theatres do. Good temperature (it was cold outside, we were warm enough for coats off but not sweating), good sound and view. Good location -easy for taxis to drop off but still near city centre”

“My friends and I came to see the afternoon performance of a Christmas Carol on 14/12/25. This is one of my favourite films so the performance had a lot to live up too! It did not disappoint. Reece Dinsdale as Scrooge was outstanding. The whole cast was excellent as were the props (especially the ghost of Christmas future) All in all a lovely, entertaining afternoon. There was absolutely nothing to disappoint us. Thank you to all concerned in the production and the staff of the playhouse.”

“We had some free tickets to use so went twice in one day! Not much choice for an 11yr old to see so we saw 2 old movies (Hocus pocus and back to the future) I doubt we would have gone if we didn't have free tickets. Seats are comfortable and it wasn't busy.”

“First time visiting this venue and a cinema in I don't know how many years. The member of staff made it as easy as could be, a quick simple transaction and easy directions to the screen. Awesome air conditioning, especially with the uncharacteristic weather we're having. Should rename it Screen 3 Celcius. I was sweating buckets when I arrived but cooled down quickly within half an hour. That said, some may find it too cold so pack a jacket or something just in case. Fantastically priced too, competitive in a tough industry. I paid £10.49 in total, I wouldn't even have gotten in at the other places for a single ticket for that. So yeah, I enjoyed my visit and look forward to coming again in January if indeed that's the month the sequel to 28 Years Later will be. Thank you.”

“Its been quite a number of years since visiting this cinema, and what a pleasant surprise ! Not only is their "Insider" membership (which is free) a great incentive - cheaper tickets on a Sunday evening and all day Mondays and Tuesdays - (plus "cash back on purchases) but the seats are absolutely amazing. Massive comfortable leather reclining seats with foot rests and loads of leg room. Highly recommended !”

“Excellent cinema! Been coming here since the early 2000s and glad Vue have brought it back from the brink. I see a lot of people complaining about the self service and comfort of the seats. For me the self service is way better (although I am an introverted Zillennial) being able to decide in your own time is great. The sweet section that was in the old cinema was the same premise. All the seats a much more comfy than other Vue cinema's I've recently been to, just because it doesn't have recline buttons doesn't make it any worse.”

“Seats are very comfortable (better than Everyman, in fact). Ticket prices are probably the cheapest anywhere - £7 for an adult on a Saturday. Staff were friendly. Venue was clean. I'm not normally a fan of a multiplex cinema but this was a good experience.”

“Great film school! Small but mighty! The best part about Met is the community: every lecturer is a working industry professional who has great relationships with all their students; non-teaching staff are also super friendly and know everyone's name creating an atmosphere which is very friendly but professional. As a student you will know the majority of your year group and have ample opportunities to network and socialise with other courses and year groups. (MetFilm also has the best parties in Leeds). The kit room is full of great kit available to rent out, although the process could do with streamlining. Modules are fun and very practical: you get your hands on kit a lot in lessons as well as assignments! Great place to study if you're passionate about film and/or acting!”
