Our Stay at The Nook, St Minver, Cornwall We recently spent a week at The Nook in Cornwall and, whilst we always strive to be respectful guests and keep the property tidy, our overall experience was rather disappointing for several reasons. Property Location and Listing Accuracy: One major issue was the misleading information regarding the property’s location. The listing did not make it clear that The Nook is situated within the owners’ home space, essentially in their garden. You have to drive past the main house each time you come and go, and the family can be heard from the property. While privacy efforts have been made, future guests should be fully aware of this arrangement, as we would have chosen a different property had this been clear from the marketing materials at the time. Transparency of Management: What was described as the ‘property manager’ is actually the homeowner, which was not made clear. The attempt to professionalise the service felt a bit condescending. For transparency, it should be clearly stated from the outset who is managing the property. Additionally, after my initial communication with Perfect Stays prior to our stay, it became apparent she was the owner only later on once we arrived. Also completely unacceptably, I had seen that the property owner had viewed my LinkedIn profile after our exchange, which was again a very strange practice and if guest vetting is necessary, perhaps the process should be reconsidered with Perfect Stays. Communication and Management Concerns: During our stay, we made a genuine effort to maintain the cleanliness of The Nook. There was an unfortunate incident with the garden umbrella which fell over whilst we were out for a short while – a genuine mistake that we immediately communicated to Property Owner about. However, the response felt somewhat accusatory rather than understanding and ended up being charged an amount from the security deposit to replace. Far more frustratingly, we were also accused of taking the pillow covers and charged £14. Firstly, there is no way we would take budget pillow cases from a hotel room. However, in any case the he charge for these felt unnecessary and insulting, especially as external cleaners are used; perhaps these should be checked before assuming guests are at fault. On a related note, my pair of Ray-Bans went missing, and despite asking, there was no communication about them being found. Again, it would be worth checking with cleaners if items are reported missing. Other Issues: While not the fault of the owners, the number of flies on the property was off-putting and negatively affected our stay. Being on a working farm, this can be expected, but it certainly detracted from our experience. Value for Money: Given the high price during peak season, the value for money we felt was severely lacking. There was no view from the property, and the walking routes suggested were poor despite the advertising of great routes. These factors, combined with the issues above, made the experience fall short of expectations. We appreciate the efforts made to provide a comfortable stay, but overall, our experience at The Nook was disappointing. For those considering booking, we recommend asking detailed questions about the property’s location, management, and amenities to avoid similar surprises.

The best holiday home company I have ever used! I have used Perfect stays many times now and their service is absolutely wonderful! They are a great responsive team and their independent approach shines through with a dedicated team that clearly have to deal with issues outside of their remit. This company are my 'go to' for the best quality homes in the South West and you will not be disappointed with their service. I have always been delighted with the top quality homes they manage (although my recent stay at Seastar Portcothan was not so good so would not visit this home again) Even so, Perfect stays did their upmost to assist and deal with any issues. I cannot recommend their services highly enough and would definitely use them if I become a holiday home owner!

Celebrating a very special birthday in a favourite spot for all of the family. The house worked well for the grandparents, adults and grandchildren. Plenty of space to relax and watch the rabbits in the garden! The house is finished to a high spec with a well equipped kitchen, as well as having the outside showers, on returning from the beach. Being able to walk down to the beach was another benefit. I cannot fault the house but oh my, those views. It was mesmeric to just sit and look at the sea at any time of the day or evening. Perfect Stays provided great communication throughout the booking process and leading up to our stay. Really good and speedy response when we need some help on the weekend too!

Following a week in St Mawes we arrived at Rosemain, Rock for a week’s stay with our dog. It was the 4th time we have stayed at Rosemain and 2nd time with our cocker spaniel. It is a great house with 5 bedrooms and loads of space downstairs. We have stayed there with a large group twice and as a drop in and stay this time with friends and family able to stay for a few days and then head off. The garden is large with plenty of space for garden games, space for the dogs to run around and fully enclosed and not overlooked. A very large kitchen diner with loads of kitchen stuff to eat I. But only a short walk from the Pity Me inn or a 20 mi. Walk into Rock centre and the beach. Great walks, the best fish and chip shop and fishmongers makes it a great place to stay

I have had the pleasure of working with Perfect Stays as a supplier since 2015. I am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to offer my services to their fabulous guests as a private chef (my business is Chef Fiona NZ). I continue to be delighted to cook at many of their stunning properties. The houses are always of an impeccable standard, incredibly well equipped and situated in the most beautiful locations. The Perfect Stays team are all super professional, friendly and an absolute dream to work with. I cannot recommend Perfect Stays highly enough.

Great company, very professional that have beautiful homes Have used them twice now and already rebooked through them for next year. Different holiday homes, all lovely in their own way. Perfect stays are very helpful and approachable and were always available if we needed them. Recently we had a power cut which threw the heating out and they sent someone to sort it out very quickly. Would highly recommend.

The location of the Yellow Cottage is excellent being close to the coast, pub/restaurant, (The Port William) and footpaths. It is well maintained and suitable for two families but four adults wanting separate bedrooms would struggle in the Childrens' room. We have had some memorable stays here.

We had the great pleasure of staying at Porth Enys house for a week. My only concern is that a week isn’t long enough! I could have stayed there forever! House is beautiful and the views are the best I’ve seen anywhere. Even had the pleasure of watching pods of dolphins swim by and watched seals on the rocks. Would highly recommend.

The Watermill at Whitehay Estate was a beautiful base for our family holiday to Cornwall. The high quality kitchen, tennis court and the estate were fantastic. Jullian and Cherry were charming and made us feel very welcome.
