We were really looking forward to the Haunted Splash Park event but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. Tickets were £8 per child and £5 per adult, which felt quite steep for what was on offer. When we arrived, the event hadn’t started due to issues with the tent being blown away by the wind, so there was a delay while staff set everything back up. To their credit, they offered us a free pedal boat ride to make up for this, which was a nice touch and probably the best part of the visit, which was not even part of the event! Once the event began, there were around a dozen families gathered in one corner of the splash park. The first activity involved throwing rings over inflatable witches’ hats placed on the wall — it was so difficult for the children that only one adult managed to do it. The children then moved between activity stations to collect letters spelling “GHOST” in exchange for a sweet at the end. There were also craft tables where kids could draw their fears and decorate pumpkins, then they moved onto playing games like Red Light, Green Light, Musical Statues, and Head, Shoulders, Knees and Cups. The event finished with a disco — fun for some of the children, though it was quite cold by then. While the staff did a great job keeping the children engaged, the event itself felt flat and underwhelming — more like something you’d expect from a free local library session than a paid attraction. For £13 total, it just didn’t offer enough value. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend it and wouldn’t attend again.

Sarah and cleverson were amazing with the kids today. Even though it was cold we was welcomed onto the bounsea and the kids had an amazing day. So much so we will be coming back very soon. Would definately recommend to anyone planning a visit. Cannot fault the staff. Best ever

2nd time visiting the park, really good for 1 hour and 30 mins. Good location plenty of chairs, kids have fun, staff really good and engaging with the kids. Foam machine high recommended. Booked via Groupon. Parking ok however first come first serve in the paid and free car park.

A great day out and excellent value for money, the staff could not be more helpful, we celebrated my sons 9th birthday there and the whole day was amazing, the staff made it extra special by singing to him with us. The staff played games with the kids, I have been several times over the years but the staff have made this place amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone, thank you for a great day

My child really enjoyed the experience and it was a fun day out overall. The staff are very helpful, especially the manager. The place seems safe and secure (well staffed and gated area with restricted public access). My child was shivering as the water is cold but survived 45 minutes and enjoyed it anyway. It was not particularly hot that day to be fair. Beware that there are optional additional charges once you get inside, but it can be hard to avoid this once the kids see the bouncy castle (£8 per child, and £10 for the supervising adult). Alltogether it was an expensive 90 minute session at £29 with just 1child and my role was just to supervise him! The logistical arrangements could be better explained on the website too.

This place is lovely and clean. The children loved it and had a lot of fun. The staff were nice and easy to approach. Totally worth the money

For a peddle boat it’s a bit overpriced. Not a huge area but was good for the kids. Also loads of swans to look at. £6 for adults or they have a deal for family of 2 adults 2 kids which was worth it.

Absolutely lovely park away from the hustle and bustle that is Barking. We were here again on a Saturday morning for the 5km Park Run along the beautiful lake but we have been here several times when our kids were much younger. It is a lovely park ideal for a picnic or just to get away from it all. There is parking and if require toilets which are reasonably clean and there is also a lovely cafe right in front of the lake.
