This store is great they have little section of clothes also Argos is in here staff are friendly there is a carpark above store nearest bus to get hear is 358 R9 if your coming from Orpington war memorial or Orpington train station
I have been using this store since I moved to the area and have always had positive experience with the staff. Good variety of fresh produce. Big parking with plenty of space
3 hours parking for free is always going to advertise the store. Store is well maintained and providing quality goods. Lift not working. Staircase needs care and attention.
I'm giving only one star, because it won't post with none. I was highly mistreated by a young man who works there. I was rushing around with my 6 month old baby to get a meal deal to eat on the go and not miss my train. But the deal didn't go through at the counter. I only realised after I paid. So I reached out to this staff member, and he told me I needed to go to customer service to cancel the purchase and redo it. There was a very long queue at the customer service till, so I explained to him that I couldn't go there, or I'd miss the bus. He looked at me angrily, and raise his voice saying that he couldn't help me. I told him there was no need to raise his voice, and left the store having overpaid for my items. That was really upsetting. If this kind of thing can only be sorted at the customer service till, there should be more people working there. Also, and employee should NEVER raise their voice to a customer. That was appalling.
I visited the store today and spent over £200, mainly on alcohol for an event. As I have a business premises directly behind the supermarket, I asked if I could collect my shopping from the delivery area for convenience. The Duty Manager, Gary, flatly refused and the only option he offered was for me to fetch my car while they held the trolley. This response showed no flexibility, no understanding of customer needs, and absolutely no commercial awareness. I could have chosen to spend this amount at any supermarket, and frankly, I regret not doing so. The fact that such a simple, reasonable request could not be accommodated demonstrates a lack of initiative and a poor attitude towards customer service. For a local business spending a significant amount, I would have expected at the very least some effort to assist, or even a degree of appreciation. Instead, I left feeling that my custom was neither valued nor wanted. If I am forced to go to the trouble of using my car, then I may as well go elsewhere in future — and after this experience, that is exactly what I will do.
Great staff. Groceries and other items are priced almost as tesco. Sightly higher though. But the quality is really good here. Frozen items are better to be bought from tesco.
Very disappointed with Sainsbury's in Orpington. They have the worst cold chain to fridge timings to the point that I stopped buying milk from there as it always went off way before the expiry date. Last week I bought an apple juice with an expiry date of 20/01/2023. Five days in my fridge with it unopened saw the carton swell up. Clearly there was something very wrong with it. I took it back, (still ice cold) and no replacement, no exchange....just some silly kid telling me that as I had it over 30 minutes, they don't take it back. Would it have been better to drink it, get food poisoning then have to escalate that??? I think I'll just stick to other supermarkets going forward. They are not so nonsensical with their customers. There's a cost of living crisis and Sainsbury's are selling things that a customer does not feel safe to eat/drink then refusing to replace it. What a charming way to do business!
The staff are always helpful. Some products can be hit and miss sometimes. There value range is getting bigger and I have found the quality good.
Small store but has more then expected. Always clean friendly staff. Fresh food available and good offers
