“The staff always greet me with a smile. Great customer service and friendly environment. A great little shop.”
“It was my first time visiting this shop yesterday. I purchased samosas and vada pav. They are best heated at home. The people serving were very polite and helpful. The samosas were absolutely lovely and the vada pav was excellent and a great level of spice to it. Reminds me of the ones in Bombay. The vada pav here is so much better than SKVP. I will definitely be buying it again. Highly recommend it.”
“I came in looking for (a lot of) help replacing a toilet seat and was helped by both Lauren and Julie who were wonderful. Extremely helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and patient. They could not have made it a more positive experience, especially as a woman in a typically male dominated space. 10/10”
“satisfied with options we have. good indian store with most things available.”
“I love this shop with the cost of living going up everyday this shop Is a godsend ❤️”
“Shop laid out nice and neatly. I easily found the Slimming World section I was looking for. Check out was seamless. Good value for money.”
“Good quality meat, great friendly service, would recommend”
“Very nice place and friendly staff… cheap and best prices and fresh products! Loved the experience.”
“Fantastic store, extremely hard working staff. Great doughnuts. Lovely queuing with local friendly customers and the queue is always dealt with quickly and only what you’d expect for a convenience store.”
“I use Aambal, obviously as a small store they can't compete with Supermarket prices but they're are still reasonably priced. They get bad press about selling booze but my living room is no more that 4ft from the paving and I watch young males drinking beer out of a can and these males are entering the village from Locks Bottom direction so don't put all of this alcohol disturbance down to Aambal.”
“Best place to buy frosty jacks the lads there are chill too the bad reviews are from individuals who simply had a bad day at work and took it out on the kind souls that work there overall 9/10 good service good prices but they missed a 10/10 narrowly by no longer stocking the Haribo smurfs.”
“Clean and modern store with many foods from across Asian countries. Wide selection of fruit and vegetables.”
“I shopped twice. Noted a couple of produces were very cheap, I alerted the shop keeper. She efficiently checked her system and confirmed the price being corrected. Those were good bargain. The shop was very spacious and so pleasant to shop. Very welcoming staff and willing to go extra miles to source what I wanted. Highly recommended!!!”
“Today i discovered this hidden deli gem. It is full of the most delicious delicacies including fantastic olives. Worth a visit”
“Great service. Kind, patient and friendly Shri Lankan attendant. Amazing experience.”
“Lovely staff and shop shame its closed down tho nearly 2 weeks shut now without any notice.”
“By chance I went into this store to look around while waiting for the bus to work. I discovered a most delicious plum jam filled doughnut which didn't make it to the bus. I also got a nice bit of cheesecake which I shared with colleagues. The lady opening was so warm and friendly, I wish I could've spent more time chatting with her.”
“We love coming here. The price and quality is by far better than a supermarket. The owner is polite, friendly and helpful.”
“Good shop quiet expensive but open late so that's thats”
“Our friendly African shop. Good prices, and good people, too.”
“Came for a quick drink and a little bite to eat.First time we'd been here. Smart place, groovy decor and relaxed atmosphere. Really friendly, welcoming and helpful service. Nice choice of dishes, we just ordered a few different starters. Very tasty but portion sizes were a tad small, especially with the octopus. Very easy drinking house lager. Would love to try the main courses at summer point in the future. Prices very reasonable.”
“Very busy store where car parking spaces not guaranteed at busy times. Staff very friendly and helpful. Today shopped for garden plants and found them reasonably priced and well watered and cared for unlike some other supermarket chains.”
“Great stocked shop. Lots of tills open to ease the ques.”
“I went in to Iceland today, my ms was giving me trouble so was draining to shop and get buses. Some angel of a lady who works there I think her name is Laura but not 100 percent noticed I wasn't right plus noticed I was upset and this beautiful human being offered to pay for a cab for me , what a kind caring and compassionate lady we had a moment and I will never forget her heart. I declined the cab but the amazing man who stands by the door pushed my trolly to the bus stop. I jst want to say thankyou I Will remember your empathy and kindness and just want to let you know your both amazing ❤️”
“Easy to navigate, not always as cheap as you might expect”
“Always well stocked and presented, staff are quite active and attentive, easy layout means everything is easy to find. Don't see the manager on the floor much, seen him once in the year or so I've been coming here, that was to open a till when they were busy, although the lady did have to ring 4 or 5 times lol very happy with the shop, enjoy coming here to shop. Also has air con!”
“I’m one of those shoppers who scrutinise the labels to check what ingredients everything has as well as trying to eat as ‘clean’ as possible. I will shop in 3-4 supermarkets to cut down my weekly expenditure but recently, Aldi is my ‘Go To’ store. I have to say that I am seriously impressed with the quality ( and the price ) of all fresh meats, hams, chicken and fish. I also love that their fresh produce mostly comes from British farms. I am not vegetarian but there is a good selection to choose from if you are. Gluten free produce is also available. I can recommend their Sirloin steaks, Fresh Salmon, Cooked and uncooked Chicken Breasts, Beef ( joint and minced) Wiltshire Ham and their eggs are extra good value. On those items alone, I save between £10-15 per shop. I can also recommend Aldi ice creams/lollies ( special treat days) as they taste just as good as the branded ones but considerably cheaper. It’s a pleasant ‘quick’ shop but I have to admit that I spend a ridiculous amount of time down the ‘Isle of Shame’ Everyone loves a bargain right?!!”
