Turned up at their advertised opening time to collect an urgent prescription. Pharmacy was closed, lights were off. Utterly appalling. Neighbouring GP did not know as they hadnβt told anyone. Should be closed.

This chemist has seriously gone down hill. The doctors send across the prescriptions which they never seem to have in stock. The queues can be out of the door and if they do have them in stock then itβs usually a long wait. Today I got an emergency doctors appointment and I have tonsillitis and an ear infection . The doctor told me to collect the prescription at lunch time. My husband went around 2pm and they had him waiting for over 15 minutes before the chemist told him they have no stock of penicillin and I would have to wait till tomorrow afternoon. They couldnβt give a time. Simply unacceptable. Lloyds need to take a serious look at this chemist

I agree with the earlier review. Itβs true that medication is never ready for pick up, even if you leave it over 72 hours. Long queues at times and staff rushed. Not enough room for more than one chair to sit and wait on. This has only happened after several good assistants left in the past year or so. Very disappointing

I have picked medication up on the behalf of my partner on a few occasions and I dread going in if Paula is working. I come out feeling belittled. The way she generally talks to certain customers including myself is absolutely awful. There always seems to be an issue or it isn't ready or the pharmacist is busy but 5 minutes later the full prescription miraculously is ready. I also feel uncomfortable when she shouts across the shop the medication that my partner has been prescribed. The other members of staff are professional and lovely but unfortunately she lacks any sort of customer service skills.

Had really bad experience of this pharmacy, the staff seem nice but they are so complacent and not at all professional. I have used the services for my Mum who is very poorly and in need of regular medication. They do not check properly what they are dispensing and I have had to question them numerous times, they are slow to dispense prescriptions taking up to a week for a simple repeat prescription. On one occasion they left my Mum without vital medication for a whole week! When I called into the shop and saw it waiting on shelf I was told it wasn't for her numerous times until a member of staff checked and found out I was right. The assumption is that whatever you say is wrong, before they even check and the most common excuse is that the Doctors have got the medication wrong, even though I know this isn't the case as I checked there before visiting the pharmacy. On previous occasions my wife and brother have left there in tears while trying to collect medication we were told on the phone was ready only to be told it isn't when they arrive and they have no knowledge of the order. I've previously had to obtain medication from the hospital for Mum because we have been let down by this place, putting a greater strain on the Angels at St James who work so hard to help people. I didn't want to change and rock the boat at this late stage for Mum but I'm at the point where I have genuine safety concerns and don't feel safe with them so will be moving; as when I explained my concerns they tried to make out it was anyone's fault but their own, they'll probably do the same in the reply to this review. I hope this information helps you make an informed decision on your medical care

Always a delay in getting prescription. I don't know what their system is but never coincides with what info says. Staff great, may be that they are overwhelmed at current time.. If so, should say so and pass excess on. Also, have people waiting for prescrip in shop so the max no allowed in count towards the 4. Others waiting just to buy queuing outside. Those waiting should be asked to wait outside so others can be served

I look at all my reviews from a disabled perspective , so my review will be as that βdisabilityβ . However to be totally fair the whole high street has similar problems to this chemist due to the Victorian construction on the slope of a hill!! So what they have done here is provided a handrail to assist getting over the six inch step up to the floor which is level throughout the shop. They have also provided an key pad to enable disability entry via an electronically operated door. This is good but not wheelchair accessible. So what they have done is placed another key pad in the window at wheelchair height βlooks like a bullseyeβ. When this is pressed a member of staff is notified and will eventually come out to tend to your requirements collecting meds , dropping off prescriptions or whatever. Generally I tell them what I want on the phone beforehand and this reduces the time sat outside in the cold or the rain !!! Great in summer tho !!
