A wonderful hotel with excellent service, beautiful rooms, and a fantastic location. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We are very much looking forward to celebrating our wedding here. Thank you all, Luke & Lili (room 226)

Great Christmas party night - good food especially the black forest brownie. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Vicky and JB on the bar were helpful with the drinks. This is the third event I have attended here and will be back for more even roped my family in this year and they thoroughly enjoyed it too. 5 ⭐

Went for the cheatles tribute for christmas. Meals were shocking. Soup just warm, turkey dinner i could of put a hole in the window with the carrots and sprouts they were that rock hard. Yorkshire was as limp as a sweaty sock and tasted eggy hardly any gravy and two colleagues had been missed out for a good while. Had the toffee cheesecake for sweet it was the only good thing. Cheap wine was awful like vinegar. Didnt get a good nights sleep due to the divet in the bed. Couldnt fault the crisp cleanliness of the rooms...top notch to the maids....cracking job. The breakfast was gorgeous apart from a few anemic sausages..but cant please everyone. Plenty of choice and staff where very attentive cant complain. Oh and by the way....the hotel asked for a deposit of £50 i think it was until you check out which nobody was made aware of...which is poor management! Had to wait a week for the money back when we were told it would be the next day...then blamed the bank...but my friend had theirs back the next day as promised. Make sure u put your car reg in at reception or you will get a ticket!

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Beautiful clean room. Large bed. The downfall was the customer service was not the best. If the staff could walk about ignoring the customers they would. Would I stay again. Yes... xx

The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean. A small issue with the shower temp control being a bit tight. I booked this hotel because it had a pool. We stayed for two nights. The pool is okay but it can only have two people doing lengths at a time due to the silly triangular wall in the centre of the pool, which takes up more than half of the width. On Sundays the pool opens at 8:00 but has kids swimming lessons from 9:00. Fair enough. But this means that the two man length space also gets shortened. So you are left with doing 3 seconds widths. On the second morning (a Monday) the pool should have opened at 7:00 but I was informed after waiting 10 minutes that it wasn't open until 8am due to it being a bank holiday! I had a busy day ahead so I could not use the pool later. I assume the hotel is busier over bank holidays but they don't cater for this fact. Reception later told me that the Leisure club is not owned by the hotel so they have no say on when it opens and closes. Food was good, and the staff in the restaurant were really pleasant and welcoming. I chose this hotel for the pool and the pool was what made the stay a disappointing one.

Stayed a couple of times when travelling for work. The building and rooms are decent, however could use a bit more attention on the smaller things to bring up the overall atmosphere. Staff are always welcoming and friendly. Breakfast is decent, with enough variety. Location is okay. It is close to a main road, but there are several takeaway/places to eat/shops around the corner.

Very comfortable stay for three nights. Quiet room and hotel was conveniently located to walk to local amenities. Would stay here again when in local area. Cooked breakfast is freshly made upon request, as opposed to hot buffet style. Plentiful car parking, but remember to enter vehicle details (car reg and length of stay) on tablet at reception to avoid parking fine.

Stayed overnight for a friend's wedding, room was good size, clean and equipped with all you need for your stay. The hotel was decorated nicely for Christmas and the wedding venue. Staff were lovely all helpful and friendly. Good check out time of 12 noon also breakfast served till 12. Would stay again.

A great central location with parking. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I found my room to be cold on arrival (13°) but did get it warmed eventually. The restaurant had two great menus for the evening meal and they didn’t disappoint. The breakfast was ok with plenty of choices. I would happily return and recommend to others.

Great place - best Mercure I've stayed in. Reception are always welcoming and friendly, the bar/restaurant staff are the same, really good crew. Food here is Mercure food, ticks a box, cost effective but not the best quality. I'd absolutely recommend a Privilege room for space, quality, better respected and looked after rooms (by guests). Easy parking, walking distance to tonnes of pubs, not so many good restaurants around.
