Fabulous fishery. Maggie's pond is my favourite can't really fail here. Some absolute whoppers in here for a small fishery. Averages 5' deep in the track and 3' in the margins with a shallow shelf at the island . Biggest so far 15lb 5oz common carp. But full of mirrors,f1s, ide, roach, rudd, tench and bream. Some lovely chub to be caught up in the water. I recommend fishing as tight to the island as you can get during the day and the margins from 3pm.

Beautiful, comfortable cottage on a farm in a lovely village. Cottage had all we needed and more for a perfect holiday. Two good pubs within easy walking distance and lots of places for a day out close by.

My daughter rented Barn Owl cottage for a treat for my wife and I and with her partner joined us for a great weekend. The cottages is beautifully designed and decorated. 2 bedrooms. 2 bathrooms, a spacious lounge and a well equipped kitchen. It is located on a lovely farm with horses and chickens. It has 3 well stocked fishing ponds and although I forgot my fishing gear it was idilic just to sit in the tranquil surroundings and enjoy the wild life. On the first evening we had a stroll to the local pub (Eagle &Child) and enjoyed a meal and a few beers. As I enjoy birding, we visited Mere Sands Wood on the Saturday and Martin Mere on the Sunday, both only 10 minutes drive. Cliff and Claire were very helpful.

We have stayed here several times. Malkin Cottage lovely and cosy. cliff and Claire very helpful if you have a problem. Its a great place to chill out and relax.Fishing ponds are full of fish. If you don't catch you are not putting bait on your hook.We would recommend this place to anybody who would like to get away from everything.

We stayed in Maltkiln Cottage, it was a really lovely cottage, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and very warm and cosy with everything you needed to relax and enjoy your stay. You could sit and watch the chickens wandering by the Patio Doors and see the horses in the paddock, it was in a lovely spot. Claire and Cliff were very kind and welcoming. There is plenty to see in the area and some lovely places to eat out, we would highly recommend a holiday here.

Wow! These cottages are simply perfect for a Lancashire holiday. The area can only be described as stunning! The owners are second to none, helpful when enquiring where the best places to visit are, welcoming on arrival, friendly, nothing is too much. The accommodation had everything we needed, was clean to an exceptional standard and the horses on site were a charming extra to the holiday. Would definitely recommend and will be returning in the future! Claire and Cliff....thank you so much!
