Good location for an overnight stop travelling from Herefordshire to Scotland. We had ground floor room 16. Lovely large room with double and single bed. Very spacious bathroom and lovely big shower. Very comfortable bed. Room was lovely and clean with only one exception. The kettle was very grubby as was the surrounding area. We had to clean it before we could use it. Breakfast was delicious but items kept running out and were not automatically replaced. A good selection of items, replaced quickly when people asked, but nobody seemed to be monitoring it. Probably our fault for arriving at 8.45 as did most guests when breakfast finished at 9am. Its a lovely hotel, extremely spacious with polite and friendly staff. I would be happy to stay there again.

Very impressed with this hotel, located just off the M6 near Preston. The bedroom was large, comfortable with all the required facilities for a business traveler such as desk, desk chair, desk light, charging ports. The bathroom was of a 5 star standard with a beautiful shower. There is an acceptable restaurant facility with limited menu but fine for a quick dinner. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great location. Lots of parking. Very friendly welcoming staff on all shifts. Lovely spacious room. Clean and well maintained hotel - both the room and all public areas. Particularly liked how fresh and clean the main reception and restaurant area smelled. Breakfast was really good, great selection.

These places seem to be all the same to me, but I couldn't fault this one. The room was modern, clean, comfortable, spacious enough for two, and the breakfast buffet was simple, but adequate, and the items available were topped up in a timely manner. The dinner was awful. No choice, nothing cooked, everything heated - presumably from frozen. There are several restaurants within walking distance, and I would guess that if you pick one at random it would be a better choice. Good value if you want to break a long journey.

So I assiduously completed review at Holiday Inn's request. Since they dishonestly saw fit not to publish it I'm taking the time to write it again here: The hotel is in a great location for the motorway and for accessing the local area. I've used it twice now for sporting events. The welcome was great and I found the desk staff very helpful. The rooms were clean and functional. Breakfasts are amazing. My concerns revolve around it's use as a coach stop when regular guests become second rate. Suddenly you can't eat in the restaurant until the coach party has finished, "We don't know what time that will be, you will just have to keep trying". That happened both times to us. If it had been flagged in advance I would have booked elsewhere. Similarly the fact that the restaurant doesn't serve on a Sunday- pizza is available. After a long drive and competition I don't want another drive around Preston looking for somewhere to eat. Holiday Inn, if you ask for a review you should have the b...s to publish the results.

I wouldn't usually bother reviewing a place where we were only staying one night en-route to Scotland, but I was so impressed with the staff and hotel I felt compelled to. From the friendly staff at check in and on the bar, to the facilities themselves (bar, breakfast area, room, bathroom products etc. all fantastic), this dog-friendly hotel is excellent for the price. Really impressed and thanks for making our 500 mile journey with a dog and a four-year much more bearable! Will definitely be back.

This is my fourth time staying here (first time through work) and again it’s a good service. Staff welcoming and check in painless. (Only critique is I had to shout through to the back to get bar service) Nice open plan reception/bar/seating area. Rooms spacious, modern and clean. Breakfast spot on as usual which is always a bonus at HIE. Will no doubt stay again in the near future if visiting Manchester or Blackpool.

Stayed here as part of a coach trip. Spacious and clean room with lovely ensuite - toiletries provided as a bonus. Evening meal as part of the trip was absolutely fine with vegetarian option on request. Breakfast had a wide selection of hot and cold items using local good quality products where possible. 1 minute from motorway junction with loads of parking. Ideal for a stopover.
