Recently finished a tenancy with InStyle Property and wouldn’t recommend them. Initially, the property appeared ideal and ready to move into straight away. However, within a few days of moving in, it was discovered that the entire property needed rewiring. This issue wasn’t rectified for around four weeks, leaving us without a working fridge, freezer, oven, or hot water. Communication during this time was very poor and unhelpful - at times InStyle weren’t available on the ‘Emergency Line’ that was provided and there was a clear reluctance to use alternative contractors to complete the work sooner. The advice given by InStyle to resolve these issues was to use a kettle to bathe and wash dishes. After the rewiring, there was an inspection by Liverpool City Council, and InStyle failed to attend to represent themselves or the landlord—demonstrating a lack of accountability. Throughout the tenancy, there were other ongoing issues, including continuous leaks and damp. Some contractors employed by InStyle Property were unreliable and the quality of work was at substandard. For example, a contractor had to revisit the property after a plastering job due to the quality of the initial work and despite this the contractor was used again in future. *UPDATED 07.06.2025* - Thanks for your response. It’s appreciated that following the two messages you’ve sent for this be removed you’ve acted processionally and took accountability. However - the emergency line was utilised several times without a response during an emergency - I have updated the pictures below to reflect this. Liverpool City Council: After liaising with LCC a letter was sent to InStyle - requesting their presence which they chose not to attend. This review isn’t left with malicious intention. It’s for information and awareness for possible future tenants - as there has to be accountability for the stress that impacted our mental health (particular regarding the electricity) during the tenancy. Here’s hoping you can take the issues we faced forward as a learning curve.

This was my first BTL so it was quite daunting. However once I connected with Trevor he supported me before I even engaged him as a letting agent. He gave me advice on properties I was looking to rent out and was available to view the house I ended up buying. He was key in getting a much higher than expected rent as well. There have been a few small issues with the tenant which Trevor has dealt with efficiency and then come to me when needed.
