Such a cool and cosy venue for my daughter’s 6th birthday party today. It was perfect for a big group of excited kids to watch The Nativity to get in the Christmas spirit. Absolute chaos haha but the children loved it. Thanks to Phil for being so helpful throughout!

We've come here many times before to take our kids to see some classic movies: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, old Disney movies, Christmas classics. We love the selection of films you get here but also the quirkiness of the space. Today we had a 6th birthday party for our daughter which consisted of a movie screening followed by a disco in the party room upstairs. Andy and his team were absolutely incredible from start to finish. I can't speak more highly of them – how lucky we are to have a little gem like this in Southport!!

I loved this place! Wish we lived nearer. We were visiting from The Wirral and stumbled across Bijou. Such great value to watch films. Excellent theatre space and the accompanying bar space is so cosy and welcoming. We had a cuppa there after. The staff were lovely. Such a charming place.

Generally good, nice little place (shame about parking difficulties but that's not the fault of the staff), friendly and helpful staff. However, I've had to take a couple of stars off because of the lack of access for people with disabilities (there is a lift but it is broken and there is a step into the building and no clear indication o any alternative access) and the fact that, on the night of a movie, the person presenting it stated that for that movie, it was fine for the audience to talk, cheer, scream etc. That would have been fine if notified at the time of purchasing the ticket but not on the night when people generally expect a quiet environment for a movie. So in short, it's got a couple of faults but it's a nice little place. I'd just avoid the Screen Club as it's basically just talking about films - not really a school as is claimed on the website (no curriculum, no certificates, and the man running it makes new people feel uncomfortable so I don't think he wants any new members). That's run by someone else though, not the Bijou staff.

Bijou is a lovely place to just come and see the films on, or if you are having a function. We had a birthday party, and Andy was very accommodating for helping us sort out where our outside catering would go, DJ, arranging the tables to allow a dance floor area, arranging the downstairs area to allow a sweet and cake cart. And they have a good range of drinks available on tap upstairs or bottle/cans downstairs.

Absolutely gorgeous little cinema. Had the best experience watching A Bunch Of Amateurs there. Loved it. Can't wait to go back.

Great little cinema. The staff are friendly and chatty, the seats are comfy, you can get a drink and sit in the bar, and they have some great films on - some older classic and quirky films as well as some pretty recent releases. Well done to all concerned

Absolutely FANTASTIC service from start to finish!! We booked the building for a 50th birthday celebration and we could not fault a single thing! Andy and staff were all so lovely, helpful and friendly! Nothing was too much trouble for them! We love this place and will always want to go back here! Especially to celebrate special occasions! Thank you so much Bijou cinema x

Fantastic venue and a hidden gem in the heart of Southport, great for films and events, the lobby is a grand town building, the Bar is well stocked, then upstairs there's a beautiful room that can hold 70 people. Absolute fantastic venue and one we have worked with many a time in the past too. Looking forward to spending more time there watching films and attending events. Stuart McCallum was also amazing and it's refreshing to see a venue hosting original music.
