Appalling service today at the surgery. I was given a non urgent appointment for 440pm and the clinic was running late. At 540pm, I was advised there were two other patients in front of me and therefore another wait. I walked out of the surgery without being seen. Given its holiday season and I was specific that the appt was non urgent, the team should not have given me a same day appt if they were short staffed and running late. Instead of then helping me rebook the appt I was advised that I need to redo this through their appt system! Whilst I understand that would be ok if there was an error from the patients end but this was the surgery’s delay therefore they should be more accommodating! Really need to improve their service! It’s ridiculous to have such a bad service!

    1. Awful, hostile and cruel receptionists (William Drive especially) who have clearly not achieved anything worthwhile in their lives so instead they take joy in bullying patients and blocking them from access to doctors. Incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate for them to work within a healthcare environment. 2. Doctors here will refuse to communicate decisions about your own care to you when they make them and why they make them. You are left to chase, only to be met with the receptionists who are obstructive, and the cycle repeats. Avoid this surgery at all costs - the treatment I’ve received from the receptionists over my ongoing mental health issue and the incompetence of the doctors has genuinely made me suicidal - constantly being demeaned even though I am just a patient looking to be access medication. This surgery has made my life a living hell at every turn. This practice is extremely disappointing and they should be ashamed of how they treat patients who are vulnerable and looking for help. This has been my GP for over 20 years but in the last 5 years or so the service has been appalling.

I wouldn't even leave a 1 star review to be very honest. Been a patient for over 32 years at this practice but yesterday signed up somewhere else. Sick of leaving the surgery in tears EVERYTIME. They refuse you mental health help here because they can't be bothered to refer you on anywhere. Medically gaslight you that's if you even get a chance to see a dr if you have patience to wait over an hour and a half to see your dr. Sorry not dr- clinician who will use google more then you do. But god forbid you were 5 mins late- you'd never be seen. Reception staff I believe there's one or two decent helpful ones left, the rest all have ugly personalities to suit. Disgusting at this shambles of a surgery. They treat children the same too. Black mould in reception waiting area too which they have a legal duty of care to sort out. Imagine having patients sat there with immunocompromised conditions, respiratory issues.. sat there for hours waiting breathing it in. Diabolical. If you care about your health you'll avoid at all costs.

If you're a parent with a young child and happen to be unwell yourself, don’t expect Stanmore Medical Centre to show any flexibility, empathy, or consideration for your wellbeing — even if you have no childcare support on the day. I requested a same-day appointment for my 14-month-old baby and myself, thankfully, he was seen. However, when i asked the doctor to examine me immediately after my son — explaining that i had noone to leave him with — the request was denied. The doctor simply said, “Bring him with you,” ignoring how difficult it is to manage a toddler in a waiting room while feeling ill. Later, i received a call offering me an appointment at Belmont at 6:45 p.m. — right in the middle of my baby’s bath and bedtime routine. With such short notice, i had no time to arrange help. I tried explaining this to reception, but it was pointless. I was told that doctors decide who gets appointments and that receptionists only pass on the information — not listen to patient concerns. When i asked where to send a complaint, i was given the name of the practice manager, Vikki Young. Unfortunately, it seems complaints sent to the surgery are ignored. I understand that GPs are under pressure, but a simple request for flexibility and consideration of personal circumstances shouldn’t be so difficult. If you have the option to choose another GP, I strongly recommend doing so.

One star is not worth it for this place at all. I had the worst experience today regarding my blood test because of the lack of training from the Anne, the receptionist. All of the staff lack any accountability and human decency. They do not listen to you properly and get all feisty when they realise they are in the wrong. After waiting 30 minute’s with another patient who witnessed everything and waited to defend me, even though I just met her. Anne failed to tell me that my form was wrong and had me waiting 30 minute’s even after politely reminding her. My honest advice to anyone going here for any type of appointment is don’t. You are better off sitting in A&E. The partner’s and practice manager, Vicky Young are nowhere to be found which isn’t surprising and they should really and truly just shut the place down. What a waste of a building.

Could not be worse. Can’t reach them over phone for love or money. They are simply short staffed and have been for a long time. Those managing this service should hang their heads in shame.

I visited a dermatologist through my insurance and got a routine bloods done ( it was something I requested from my dermo and she had nothing to do with the diagnosis) I called the gp surgery to book an appointment as the blood results were not up to the mark and required further investigation. When I told the receptionist about my visit to the dermo and getting routine tests she tells me that ‘ Oh so we pick up the pieces for you’ . I was shocked! Offcourse you do! That’s your job mate. That’s why the government takes taxes from the public so that it can provide services when needed. What do you expect after keeping us waiting in a queue for ages and then treat us like you are doing a big favour. I really hope non of your loved ones have to go through this. The system is falling apart and we are stuck here! Really shameful. Sadly there is no zero or negative star option.

I got a appointment once in two years because my blood pressure is going up too much but no care available here fed up properly because the doctor on the day of appointment was in rush and after my blood work done I trying to call but it’s busy like always don’t know what to do.

As mentioned on many other reviews, trying to reach the reception by phone is almost impossible. They now have a new online booking system which has improved things a little, but it can be a bit annoying at times when you need to speak to someone on the phone. Still, it's a massive improvement to what it was previously
