   The waiter is absolutely charming and welcoming. The pigs in blankets are with their own special sauce, very good taste. Lamb is not as good as expected but I would say it’s because the way UK handles meat, not the fault of the restaurant.

   This place is brilliant. From the moment we walked in we were treated as if we were the only ones that mattered. The staff are fantastic, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was cooked to perfection and the only criticism is that a small portion of vegetables would have been nice with the lamb. Highly recommend. Cost was approximately £50 per person with wine and drinks. Will definitely return.

   Absolutely amazing place to eat. The service was second to none and the food was fantastic! We has a shared platter to start which was just gorgeous, and the I had a q0oz ribeye which was done perfectly (medium rare) and how they managed to get a crispy/slightly charred top with a medium rare inner I have no idea but it was perfect. 5 stars is an easy choice

   A lovely place with a beautiful welcoming warm feeling inside. We were a party of 12 people with pre-ordered set menu meals. Friendly staff, overall tasty food. Some starters were a little too spicy, mains were delicious. Issues were with puddings; the sticky toffee pudding was too big of a portion and the cheesecake that some chose was not indicated that it was baked cheesecake and therefore was not what those people liked. When it came to paying issues arose as the pre-ordered meals were not inputted into the system and this took a further 15minutes waiting time. Despite the small issues we had, I would visit again but ask more questions on the options before ordering.

   It's the very first time I'd ever been to the Corner Grill House and it certainly won't be the last... INCREDIBLE!! I wanted to try a steak place in York, before heading home. I had looked up another, but decided on this one instead. For some reason, I went to the wrong one (me not paying attention!) So I began to make my way to the Corner Grill House and rang up, to let them know I'd be running late, being informed by one of the ladies on the phone, who was very pleasant, that this wasn't a problem at all. Finally made it and stepping inside, the atmosphere was superb and the restaurant itself was very clean and spacious. When I went, there were very few people in which was nice, as it meant it wasn't too busy or noisy. I was greeted by a friendly member of staff, and shown to my table. I had time to look over the menu, before deciding on what to have. One of the waitresses who came over to take my order, was kind enough to tell me about the two and three course options, with me possibly having a dessert. However, I wanted to try the truffle and parmesan fries, so decided to give those set meals a miss this time. I ended up going for the 8 oz Bravette steak, with the truffle and parmesan fries, along with a side order of garlic sautéed king prawns and a blue cheese sauce. While waiting for my food, I was admiring all the wine bottles lined up and the "olive tree" decoration, fabulous decor! When the food came out... WOW! I was super impressed. You get a LOT for your money, that's for sure! At first, I winced a little at £8.00 for a side of the garlic sautéed king prawns, thinking I'd only be getting about five or six. Oh no no, there were PLENTY of king prawns, so the £8.00 price is well-justified in my opinion!! The steak was a pretty big piece, a nice chunk with flavour, alongside the flavourful truffle and parmesan fries. There was also half a tomato and a red onion, which came as standard with the steaks. It was delicious from the very first bite, right down to the last. I was hoping to have tried one of their desserts, but the food was super filling so didn't need one in the end! The only thing was, that my steak could have been done a little bit more, as it was a bit more red than I normally have it. However it was a tasty piece of steak nonetheless, and worth the price. Speaking of, all that came to £46.53 which, in my opinion, is damn good value for money considering all that I had. There is a discretionary 10% service charge, which was added to the bill. But I didn't mind that at all, as the waitresses earned it giving excellent customer service and the chefs, serving up delicious food. I'm sure if you didn't want this added, the staff would take it off for you though, no problem. What I wanted to point out, was how friendly and supportive all the staff seemed, towards a new waitress that was learning the ropes. They seemed really encouraging and helpful, which is how it should be, so hats off to them for their professionalism and creating a great working environment! I'll definitely be returning to the Corner Grill House and HIGHLY recommend to anyone, looking for a good steak while in York... You won't be disappointed!!

   Absalutely outstanding steaks. I had the mixed grill that was completely perfect. The venue is small and that is the reason it's so perfect. Very personalised and unique. A couple more things on the menu for non meat eating, my wife had the fish which was also delicious. Homemade chips would go down well also but hey they are just suggestions. What a place. An absolute must. Front of house chap was brilliant also, nothing was too much.... Thank you so much for an awesome evening

   The best fillet steak I have ever eaten was at this great little find in York. It's only a small restaurant with a small number of tables so would recommend booking in advance. The service was laid back but we were not in a rush. The food was excellent and we would definitely visit again and recommend this lovely little place. The price was also great, £25 for a fillet steak with 2 sides.

   Really great find in York! Very friendly and welcoming service. Not an over elaborate menu, but the dishes were superb. Would definitely be returning and recommend a visit. Make sure to book as limited tables for more exclusive service.

   I’ve been to York for 3 times and the very first time to try this restaurant. Foods are very nice in a reasonable price. I will highly recommend the seabass and loin. This is a MUST-TRY restaurant when you visit York!
