Everything was excellent, food was delicious, service was brilliant and a special shout out to Leo who was our very attentive and good humoured server at dinner this evening. One of our party has stayed for a couple of nights and enjoyed it although has remarked that the WiFi could be better. Overall, we always expect an excellent time and this evening and this stay has been no different.

I can’t rate it lower than 1 star, but the restaurant portion of this pub has been appalling. We came as a group of 18 for a Christmas dinner, and you can imagine this a special occasion for us to organise. We were all looking forward to having a lovely lunch. We left the lunch with most people feeling immediately unwell and soon realising they had food poisoning. Not everyone is local to this pub, some of us had to travel back up to 3 hours to get home, all while feeling unwell. Not to mention, there are mothers and an expectant mother within the group, and the overall risk of this would be detrimental. The manager and team have taken no accountability for this matter, zero responsibility to try to help and have instead decided to shift the blame onto our group, suggesting we all had a stomach bug that we brought into their establishment… all 18 of us who clearly do not live together. We are now paying for a service and food that was far below safe. The only thing I recommend is sending in a health inspector.

We needed a place to stay overnight because of flight scheduling and were so happy to have found this lovely boutique hotel. Very comfortable bed and amazing breakfast on the morning of our flight. We thought there would be a problem with noise from the pub but the rooms are nicely isolated. Super friendly staff! We will definitely be back.

We went out for a girls’ catch-up dinner and booked this place for the first time β€” what a treat! The ambience and dΓ©cor were absolutely gorgeous, creating such a lovely vibe. The food was delicious (we had the Buttermilk Chicken Burger and Fish & Chips for our mains), very reasonably priced, and the service was fantastic. We’ll definitely be back β€” an absolute gem!

Had a very relaxing stay in the Mowbray room. It was more spacious than expected and spotlessly clean. Loved the roll top bath (only gripe would be that the water wasn’t as hot as I’d like). The bed was comfy and complimentary tipple was a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious, would have liked a continental offering (pastries, cereals etc) but the cooked breakfast was plenty. Thank you!

Total day with a few drinks and a meal cost Β£80.. Madness! Can do the same at a regular pub for Β£50 or less! The staff were good so can't knock that, they don't set the prices and clearly work hard too keep up. Average price for a main dish here is Β£19! Quality of food is good but still way overpriced, as portion sizes are very small also. More like a child portion for around Β£20! Dishes cost way more than what they are really worth for the quality.Β£20 for a burger once service charge is added!!!? Plus they automatically add a service charge when ordering which, if I hadn't stopped it would have made my sadly small curry (only 2x Prawns in it) Β£22! Beers about Β£6 on average. Cocktails and wine also way above average prices. Was there because at a birthday celebration for a close friend and didn't want to complain about the money and ruin their day. Giving an extra star because was there with great people. 2 star only due to the crazy super high prices.

Went Monday 21st Nov. Food was amazing. Fish pie was the best I have ever had, might not be to everyone's taste but I absolutely enjoyed it. Did not require sides either. Service was great even though they were very busy and we were a large group we didn't wait for long for drinks or the food. The staff were super friendly and very nice, checked to see if we were happy with the starter and main course. I will be going back for sure for another fish pie :)

Sunday menu limited but OK if having roast, side order was missed but still presented on bill. Was not asked if we wanted more drinks or if we wanted dessert. We were seated away from main dining area and forgotten. Had to go and request bill

Been here for a drink a few times in the past and decided to go here for dinner as the staff have always been very friendly and was apparently a good place to go and eat too. So I decided to give the food a try and I'm glad I did! Went for the slow roasted pork belly for mains and a sticky toffee pudding for my dessert and both were absolutely amazing. The dishes are very reasonably sized as it leaves you room for starters and desserts too, and it happens way too often that you order a starter and you already feel full up which is what stopped me from having a starter. But now after having experienced their food I know I will be able to get a 3 course meal without feeling like I've eaten way too much. Definetly a place worth going too for both drinks and food.
