Premier Inn Epsom South is a great place to say. Staff are incredibly accommodating, friendly and go above and beyond for their guests. If I am in the area again I will be staying here. Thank you to all staff for making my work trip pleasant, comfortable and relaxing. I would 100% recommend.
This is a difficult one to grade. On the one side, the hotel is looking tired (a refurb is due) and the car park is litter strewn and plainly the parking spaces were based on the measurements for a Mini. BUT Damn - the staff were great - a massive shout out to Laura (hilarious but also super mindful of her guests) and Nathan (similarly totally customer focused). Faultless in every respect and I know that if we had any issue, they'd sort it #payrise. Also - the rooms were clean, everything worked and it was quiet; I am not sure we could ask for much more. Thanks, will book again!
I stayed one night in this hotel yesterday, the reviews describing a tatty hotel are accurate. The place felt dirty and unloved, sticky floors and dirty tables in the restaurant with tired decor everywhere. Nothing premier about this hotel except the price. There was also poor ventilation, really long corridors and intermittent heating in the bedroom, poor TV choices and dirty windows. Needless to say this lady won't be returning.
We stayed here as it was situated well for a wedding we attended & the reception afterwards. The rooms are tatty. Curtains hanging off or too short for purpose. Water stains on the duvet cover that we only noticed in daylight as dark when we arrived & lighting poor in the bedroom. Breakfast luke warm & when we sat and waited for a taxi we paid £5.70 for a tea and latte and had to make it ourselves?? Bet they wouldn't allow us behind the bar to fix our own tipples? Gareth, the guy on breakfast duties ticking us off and checking we'd paid was miserable. We had to ask for plates & for food to be topped up as all gone when we came down. The dining area needs a good hoover and wiping down of tables. They don't seem to have enough bodies to do it all. The whole place needs an overhaul as it's very dated. It's not a budget hotel either. Overall, I'm disappointed and wouldn't stay here again.
Comfortable bed, rooms a bit tired. Needed a stand up fan to keep the room cool. There’s a certain level of noise from doors slamming, especially near the entrance ways and car doors slamming outside on ground floor. Not much sound proofing (ear plugs will help). But we slept ok. However, friendly staff and was a good price for the location we needed for one night.
I was disappointed that there was no lift, as women travelling alone are always put on the top floor for some reason. My room was also the first one from the stairs. Fortunately I was only disturbed but one group of people shouting along the corridor. My main complaint, though, was the freezing cold water coming from the shower. When I mentioned this to the receptionist as I left, she told me I should have informed reception. When I said I'm not sure how when I was in the shower, she just said "oh". Update to previous review: I stayed here last weekend and it felt completely different to last time. The day before I arrived, one of the receptionists, Megan, rang to check if there was anything in particular that I required for my room. I have been staying in Premier Inns for years and have stayed in loads of them and this has never happened before. She asked if I was coming for a special occasion and I mentioned it was my birthday the previous day and that I was visiting my daughter. When I arrived in my room, I found a box of chocolates, a can of lager and a small bottle of sparkling wine, along with a card and birthday message from the hotel. I thought this was such a lovely thing to do. Megan deserves a special mention because she was extremely friendly and helpful during my stay.
An enjoyable stay with a comfortable room offering the basics you'd expect to see in any decent hotel. Very friendly welcome despite my 2am arrival. Breakfast the following morning was what you'd expect but being mothers day was extremely busy and the staff were struggling. However they were very apologitec and polite too all guests. They truly were working very hard to meet the demand. Couldn't praise them anymore. Car parking is limited but if I was in the area again I would stay here again.
Stayed one night. Friendly staff. Found a hair in my coffee cup in the room :( but apart from that it was a nice clean room. Good amount of parking too and close to motorway/asda superstore too.
We had room 16. Found-in the bathroom-water leaking from underneath the WC pedestal with the inevitable whiff. The bath was covered in the previous occupant's black hair - likewise one of the bed's pillows. The bath's soap dispenser was empty. And to top it off, the heavy curtains had several hooks off the curtain rail. The "tea station" had not been recharged with either tea, coffee & sugar. Fortunately there were spare pillows in the bedroom, so we just swopped out the one adorned with a previous occupant's hair. Despite the hotel's excellent location on the busy A217 dual carriageway (M25 4 miles, Gatwick 11 miles; Epsom Downs, Sutton, Boxhill all near; Chessington World of Adventures not far either), the room was very quiet and comfortable. The staff in the co-located Brewers Fayre restaurant seemed very rushed, but actually gave good service (particularly "Jan") in the circumstances. Some of the chairs in the restaurant had their covers well split - would have been risky for those wearing fragile fabrics. All in all NOT up to Premier Inn' usual high standard - particularly in Room 16.
Due to long journey from Mansfield turned up after 10 with 2 children under 10. Whilst checking in no one advised booking breakfast which normally does happen unless you check in at self service. Anyway. Had an early start next morning turned up for breakfast at 0745 to be told we had to wait until 0900 for breakfast which would have made us late for our engagement. Was told it would be too busy to serve. Just walked past 0845 and hardly anyone in. We would not have been long either. This is despite having 2 young children. I have stayed at 2 premier inns in last month. Twickenham last weekend and that was busy and they still allowed us to have breakfast early in morning no issue. So they excuse was an absolute farce. Would never stay there again I would advise avoiding and going anywhere else. Especially with 2 young children Worst service ever!!!!!!
