The staff here try hard but they have too much to do to offer a proper service. The hotel promises a 24 hour bar but when we came back to the hotel at around 10pm there was one member of staff left to cover both the bar and the reception. She was dealing with guests at reception so we waited but then the advertised drinks weren't available so we ended up leaving it. The room was on the small side and had a view of a wall. However the bed was comfortable and we weren't disturbed by any noise. The air conditioning worked but was extremely noisy. The hand soap and shower gel was either extremely thin in consistency or had been watered down. It took a lot of either to get any kind of cleaning effect. The shower wouldn't drain properly and after only a short time threatened to overflow the tray. There was no hairdryer in the room so we had to go to reception to ask for one. You only get 30 mins of WiFi free which is ridiculous. I think 3 stars is a fair score. This isn't up to usual Travelodge standards sadly.

Where do I even begin. I’ll start with the only one positive location of this horrid hotel. - Extremely rude staff at the reception, - Old disgusting smelly carpets, - Old stinking shower curtain - Water hardly goes down the drain. - Bathroom air vent makes a horrible noise but doesn’t work at all. - The bed is far from all the promises on their commercials. - I paid 15 Pounds for a late check out. Not bad for 2 hours, however… reception didn’t give this inform as I’m any of the cleaning staff. At noon sharp (!) the first lady knocked, well, knocked is a very soft way of writing this, she banged in the door to tell me it’s check out time… About 40 min later the Second Lady banged on the door literally almost gave me a hard attack.. What’s the point paying for a late check out? All I can say they were lucky I didn’t sleep from noon to 2 pm. I would have been very unhappy. - To summarize it all: This hotel needs a face lift ASAP!

Great stay at the hotel which was left for visiting the US embassy ( only a 5 mins walk away) service was great and friendly. Room was clean and very comfortable. I had a good night sleep here. The hotel is located next to a few bars which can cause a bit of noise disruption depending on which side your room is but luckily the noise subsided by 10pm.

This is a gem of a location. Lots of places to eat and enjoy the company of local people. The reception staff are flawless and try their hardest to make sure everything is as perfect as can be for you. However - housekeeping staff are another matter. No mattress protector and stained towels. We left a top up the towels sign on the door and when we returned the single hand towel that we had had to use as a bath mat was wet and on the carpeted floor by the door. Extra towels were thrown on the bed - the shower curtain was replaced as the previous one was not long enough and water ran out onto the floor. Hence the use of the towel for a mat. Used cups were not exchanged and bins were not emptied. The water pressure for the shower was very poor. Refreshing the tea and coffee sachets would have been nice when they brought more towels in. Front of house staff were top notch - let down by lack of attention to detail housekeeping staff.

You don't expect much from a Travelodge, but there's a minimum standard and this one fails to live up to it. Staff at the front desk are friendly enough but they're overworked, being left to do two jobs, front desk and manning the bar, solo before it even gets late. This is a management issue, not an issue with the staff. I stayed here for two nights and they only activated my key card for one, and when I had to go down to get it reactivated when arriving back the second evening, they put the wrong room number on it because they'd had to rush to get back to the queue at the bar. When I arrived in the room it didn't look like it had been hoovered, in fact the whole first floor looked like it hadn't seen a vacuum in some time. There were also signs that the bathroom had only been cleaned very quickly, if at all. The morning after the first night I put out my "please top me up" sign to replace the towels and tea/coffee AND specifically asked at reception of they could vacuum the room. When I arrived back, 14 hrs later, nothing was replenished nor cleaned and the hanger was still on the door. The lighting in the room is cool and harsh, or doesn't work, the USB charging sockets by the bed don't work, the window is a sealed unit that doesn't open, when you have a shower, the curtain doesn't stop water going everywhere. Despite the sealed window, it doesn't keep the sound out. This hotel must be under the eastern approach to Heathrow and is right next to Vauxhall station so l, combined with poor soundproofing to the neighbouring rooms and hallway, there's continued noise until late at night, resuming pretty early in the morning. I can't remember the last time I had a worse night's sleep in a hotel.

I have stayed here twice since late January and both times the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night due to the proximity of the smoke alarm to the bathrooms - apparently someone showering without the door closed sets it off. Today we were evacuated into the street in the cold and dark at 4am. Staff are really nice, rooms are comfortable, but I won’t be staying again - I thought the January middle of the night fire alarm incident was bad luck but I’ve stayed here twice and it’s happened twice! Shame as it’s a good hotel in a great location.

Great location and very affordable. Staff were friendly, the hotel lobby and corridors were very clean. The room was also clean, small but big enough for two adults. The shower was incredibly powerful. The only downsides were that the bathroom extractor fan was very loud and can’t be switched off. The air conditioning in our room was broken - but obviously not a problem in January.

Room are clean and tidy, location is good as it is close to where I want to be. The downside of this hotel is the extraction fans they install in the rooms, they are on and EXTREMELY LOUD all night. I don't get it, you are seeking comfort and quite relaxed sleep after a long day, how this will happen with the extraction fan on and noisy like that, we have seen other hotels with extraction fans but quiet to make your night go smooth..

Honestly cannot fault this place. I didn't expect much, but was greeted with the cheeriest welcome on reception, the room was cheap, big enough, clean and the bed was comfy. Surprisingly quiet considering it backs onto Vauxhall station too, so they have done an exceptional job on soundproofing. The cafe/bar was a star of the show too. Great menu, really tasty and again clean and lovely service.

I was apprehensive about this stay as my last stay in a Travelodge was appalling. This Travelodge was completely different. The room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. It was adequately stocked with coffee and tea. There was a good choice of food at breakfast. The communal areas were all clean and fresh. We would happily stay there again. Location was brilliant - virtually next door to Vauxhall staff. Staff were friendly, helpful and competent.
