Disappointing visit if being honest. Booked a table on 30/12/2025. When we arrived, we were welcomed and directed to our table by a very friendly member of staff. Upon heading up to the bar to order food and drink, we were handed a long list of food items which were unavailable (more or less everything apart from the carvery). The member of staff that gave us this list seemed like she didn’t want to be there and stated we should have expected this due to the time of year. Im sorry, but that is the most daft excuse I’ve ever heard. It’s a place that sells pub meals. That’s like Tesco saying they haven’t got any stock as it’s Christmas! (They always plan ahead and order extra stock) I’m a manager myself and no way would I have my staff speak / act to paying customers like this. If we were told about the stock issues when booking, we wouldn’t have been bothered but when you don’t live in Rochdale, it’s both a waste of time and fuel. Ended up going elsewhere. In the past, this has been our go to for a pub lunch but after this and the last not so great visit, will most likely look elsewhere from now on. Such a shame

Stumbled upon this little treasure on a drive with a friend. Georgia and her team are absolutely brilliant! Made us feel very welcome off the bat, gave us a lovely seat with a view of their beautiful beer garden and gave me a mountain of mash with my delicious pie! Definitely going to try and come again in the summertime! Keep up the amazing work you lot! Merry christmas!!

A little over a week ago, 27 family members and I gathered for a birthday celebration. (Ages ranged from new born to 60+) The evening before, Amy, decorated the conservatory with the banners and balloons that I had bought. The tables were set up and positioned with ample room for us to mingle. Georgia and her team occasion extra special. Their attention to detail was faultless We had pre-arranged using the lower conservatory for easy access to the outside play area , the bar and the carvery. Twenty two carvery meals were ordered. Food was fresh and plentiful. Children's menu catered for the 'picky' younger members of our family. The conservatory was booked from 1200 - 4.30pm . The last five family members left at 10.15! That's how welcome we were made! A deposit of £3 per person taken and subtracted from the bill (no hire charge) We highly recommend contacting Georgia if you want an informal family friendly place to celebrate special occasions.

Just been to the beach for a Christmas meal. From the moment we walked in we felt at ease. Nothing was too much trouble. Izzy showed us the menu choices. We had opted for a Christmas meal. Our table had a table cloth, crackers and napkins in the glass. Definitely got us in the Christmas mood. A lovely starters followed by the carvery. James carved the meats to perfection and made sure all the vegetables etc were as we required. A great way to get in the Christmas mood.

Had a walk around the lake then went in for some food, the pub has a section for dogs which was great because it was a bit cold to eat outside. The staff were all really friendly but a big thank you especially to Amy the chef (from Mojo the collie). The food was about 10 minute wait, for 2 people i spent around 26£ and brought a bit home that i couldn't finish. Would definitely recommend a walk to build an appetite then come to this place, it was a nice end to the afternoon.

"Beach" is in a great location, just perched on the edge of Hollingworth Lake. Perfect for a morning walk followed by a pint and pub lunch. There are parking meters in the car park, but customers of Beach get the fee waived, just remember to enter your registration into the touch screen pad near the entrance when you go in. The customer can find themselves a seat then order at the bar or via the Greene King app. (I prefer this to being seated as sometimes you just want to find a quieter area of the pub). We did change our minds on table a couple of times as they hadn't all been cleaned and were missing cutlery etc, but wasn't a big issue. We ordered on the app and drinks arrived within 5 minutes. Guinness & Coors was good, and the kids had milkshake/capri sun which was fairly priced compared to other pubs. Food was lovely, I had the katsu chicken (pictured) which was really surprisingly good! And the other adult had the medium carvery which had plenty of meat and good quality veg etc. They did say it was one of the best carveries they'd had! Children's meals were well priced, but maybe just a tad small for a 11 year old so I'd probably get them an adult meal next time. I think they are aimed at much younger kids. Will certainly return if we come back for a walk around lunch time, or even just for a sneaky pint on a warm day!

Absolutely shocking food. I know it’s cheap, so you can say, you get what you pay for but part of the chicken on the mixed grill was like jelly and was still raw. They said there’s no way it isn’t cooked because it was pre cooked before they got it but I but you can clearly see in the picture it isn’t cooked. I’m sure that if this wasn’t in a ideal location by the lake, they wouldn’t make much money.

Lovely, good prices, carvery was beautiful, they served you the meat or vegetarian option, and you served yourself the potatoes, veg, gravy etc... And 3 size plate prices, very impressed... Really enjoyed and loads of wine price points aswell... Definitely recommend if in the area. Area outside for kids, smoking area and views of lake... There was loads of fantastic offers for Xmas brekkie with santa, nye, jazz band etc... I'd love something similar in my area... But I came in train for a walk.

Lovely Ploughman's lunch today, enough for 2 to share.Ordered couple of side dishes but didn't necessarily need. Really good portion size. Very fresh ingredients and excellent carvery meat. Definitely good value for money, would recommend and definitely going to go again. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.
