Stayed 2 days in the single room with sharing bathroom, it was all well cleaned and calm. No problems while entering the building at 4am or at the daytime. 24/24 reception opens and they are there is anything needed . 5/5 definitely worth it.
Our stay was exactly what we needed - a very affordable bed for the night! Room was compact, clean, and well thought out, even having a TV and aircon. Bed was comfy and though thicker pillows would have been nice we slept well. Great en suit with a waterfall shower and lovely toiletries and soft towels provided. Tea and coffee also provided by reception - oat milk would have been nice. 24/7 reception staffed by a lovely team. It’s next to the station so ear plugs are needed. Will definitely stay again.
Totally okay for the price. Rooms are small as expected but clean and fresh smelling. The bed was not the most comfortable and only one very thin pillow was supplied. As others have mentioned, it can be noisy at night, the walls are thin and I heard a lot of banging and slamming of doors throughout the night. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The location is good, very close to Hackney Central station which is on the overground network, so you can get where you need to go easily. There’s an M&S food, McDonalds & plenty of independent shops and cafes close by. For the price, can’t really ask for more but if you’re a light sleeper I’d consider paying a little extra and going somewhere a bit quieter.
Kip hotel feedback: Stayed Thursday to Saturday at Kip Hotel. Check-in was quick with ID required, which was reassuring, but entrance security was lacking—anyone could walk in without key access, and this made me feel unsafe. The first day’s lady receptionist was unhelpful and couldn’t provide basic information, while the next day’s receptionist was far more responsive. My room was clean but windowless, had minimal air circulation, and very thin walls, so privacy and comfort were both limited. Bathrooms are shared; personally, I prefer a female-only floor option. The hotel advertised 24/7 drinks, but they were only available in the morning according to staff, which was disappointing. Despite requesting an extra pillow, none arrived. The TV required a code for Netflix access, which wasn’t provided, so the amenity was not usable. This property works well if you need a simple place for a short work trip or day visit, but it’s not suited for longer stays needing comfort or space. I would not stay here again and wish I would booked next door for a similar price. Security, staff training, and clear communication on amenities are areas that need attention.
I stayed for the second time in this hotel. This time in a large Double Bed Room. I think this hotel with its value-for-money is fantastic. As I am staying in every kind of hotels from Low-Star to Five-Star, I have seen a lot before. This hotel is based in London, therefore your are in the city with it's bustling surroundings. If you inform yourself, you can find out as this environment is close to the train tracks (Overground and Railway services 24 hours). And so what? Close the window and the noise is fine, let it open and put some Earplugs in. And so what? If that is not enough, book at Hilton or Marriott and figure out that some circumstances are given back in the price-you-pay. I have asked this time to stay with view to the train station as I appreciate with it and the view you get. KIP Hotel: Stay on with your idea, I will be back soon - great concept.. Rooms for 50-70 pounds / night.. Thank you!!
It was my second time staying - great location if you need to be in the middle of Hackney, but the rooms are a little cold, soulless and harsh. The Aircon/heating didn’t work, and made an annoying bleeping noise throughout the night. The bed was uncomfortable and gave me a terrible nights sleep. The poorly fitted mattress cover came off while I was sleeping - I woke up to find myself on top of a horribly stained mattress, including significant blood stains, which was a gross way to wake up. For what it is, it’s hugely overpriced. Feels like they’re going for something a bit trendy and upmarket, but they miss the mark on so many levels.
260 for a room without window and not even a hair dryer, the employees didn’t notified me of the check out time so I assumed was at 12 , and this employee comes to my door and only saying if you are not down in 5 min we will extra charge you. Teach your employees costumer service is a basic im a hotel. Apart of that the room was extremely hot, was not even a hair dryer.
Even though the beds are small for tall people, I had a great stay. Felice, the girl who does the night shift (on tuesday night) was super helpful and kind. I’m diabetic and she helped me out a lot when my sugar was low. I’m very thankful to her.
There are better hostels in the Borough neighborhood, plus Borough is a closer to the center of London and it has things to do. The Hackney neighborhood isn't great. Staying at this hotel / hostel is a sterile experience because it doesn't have a community room or pub to meet up with other guests. Staff did not clean and restock the shared bathroom for my section of rooms when I stayed here: we ran out of toilet paper, the shower soap wasn't refilled, and there were dirty towels on the floor.
