Honestly, if a 4 1/2 star review were available we would give it. This hotel has so many wonderful things. The rooms are spectacular. The views are stunning. The pool was almost perfect. The people are friendly and helpful. But there are certain things that keep us from giving this hotel a perfect rating. There’s the slight smell of sewage in the restroom. There’s the paltry sized towels. The small robes. And the slippers. There seems to be understaffing at times, both in the restaurant and at the front desk. These are all small, correctable things. But when you’re paying this amount of money for a hotel room, you expect a lot. Do we love the property? Yes. Could we have loved it even more? Yes.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Shangri-La London. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. A special thank you to Tyrone, the manager, who was incredibly accommodating and made sure every detail of our visit was perfect. His professionalism and kindness truly elevated our experience. He helped us with upgrading our room making our stay exceptional in Westminster suit. Our suite was stunning…spacious, luxurious, and impeccably clean, with the most breathtaking views of London. Waking up above the city felt magical. The atmosphere, the comfort, and the attention to detail made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommend the Shangri-La London for anyone looking for a memorable and top-tier experience. We can’t wait to come back!

Only our (family of three with a 2.5 year old toddler) first night at the Shangrila London, and we’ve been duly impressed by the high quality of service and overall efficiency. Everyone is friendly and have no airs. We were given a thorough walkthrough of the amenities, as well as our room by the front desk staff, Dumi - who was so friendly and helpful. Our room (4901) was spacious and had a stunning 180 degree view of the London skyline. Since we were in town to celebrate my wife’s 40th, the team took the effort to surprise us with thoughtful gestures, which we truly appreciate. Dumi also recommended that we make reservation for the sky pool and we are glad that we did. There were specific kid friendly timing, and Matt, who you’ll find at the pool is super friendly and helpful. He made sure we were all settled in and took great care of us. After our pool session, we ordered in room dining, and were impressed with the ability to order via the tv. Food came in a jiffy and was great. For additional context, we just spent 5-nights at another 5-star hotel in Park Lane, but from the moment we checked into the Shangrila London, we knew we ‘wasted’ those nights at the previous hotel. We look forward to our stay at the Shangrila Hotel, and to be spoilt by the friendly and helpful staffs here. Cheers to the Shangrila London team for taking such good care of us so far. Truly a 5-star hotel in a 5-star city.

The unbeatable views are clear from the start, but the six star service will keep us coming back. Chris the concierge was delightful to chat with and found us last minute tables with gorgeous views for Gong Bar and Ting pan-Asian restaurant. The housekeeping staff are super fast to respond to any request. The remote control blackout curtains really do block out the considerable sunlight. The room was definitely soundproof. My only suggestions would be to add a light switch at the room entrance, install soft close hinges on the closet doors, provide non slip mats in the bathroom (the ones provided were really slippery and a bit dangerous, and would benefit from a rubber backing), and offer liquid hand soap. One tip for those booking with Amex FHR: the property credit is valid only at Ting and Gong, as Oblix and Aqua Shard are apparently run by separate companies, and you get a welcome gimlet (which was spectacular) as well at Gong, so keep that in mind if you have a short stay. Amex wasn't clear about that in the booking confirmation, but the hotel was super helpful in rearranging our reservations for drinks and dinner. The hotel bill service charge was a bit of a surprise. I realize this has become common in London, but I feel that when one is paying as much as this hotel charges, a living wage for staff should be more than covered in the base rate, and a 5% "discretionary" charge on your bill should be unnecessary. This feels like a hidden fee, and London hotels risk alienating travelers with it. Also, it's a bit strange that the front desk didn't carry change for any small bills or pound coins. Also, if you order room service breakfast the night before, make sure to scrutinize your bill, as they mistakenly charged it as a dinner and didn't discount it for the breakfast credit (a 10 pound tray fee is extra).

The price tag did not match the experience. Our stay at Shangri-La London was memorable for its exceptional service and stunning views, though not without flaws. The team’s responsiveness was faultless, and every issue, from heating to the TV remote, was resolved swiftly and with care. In-room dining was excellent, with a kind waitress and a menu clearly marking halal options. The Gong Bar was a highlight, offering breathtaking views and a lively atmosphere. At the price point, however, the level of luxury needs to match the price tag. We’ve been to other luxury hotels in London and this hotel was underwhelming. We could hear noise from the next room, and the bath layout allowed visibility into a neighbour’s suite, which felt surprising for a a hotel which can charge £1,000 a night. I had requested a personalised note on the window for our anniversary and an individual lettered happy anniversary balloon banner, but received a generic message and a single balloon instead. This was disappointing when I entered our room with my wife. The spa, while pleasant, lacked a steam room and the finish felt less indulgent than anticipated. Overall, it was a stay defined by exceptional service and beautiful views, but it would benefit from greater attention to detail and truly personal touches to meet the standard expected of a very luxury hotel.

The best hotel we’ve ever been to, it was amazing from the very first moment we entered. The room, the bathroom, the pool, the sauna, the restaurants were all perfect. Can’t fault the service. When we went for dinner and returned after a couple of hours we were positively surprised that our room was cleaned and all tidy as housekeeping came over while we were downstairs. We didn’t experience any issues which is very rare. The view from the room was amazing and we can’t wait to come back. I highly recommend this hotel for special occasions and celebrations. I’m definitely coming back soon.

This hotel was our first stop while visiting Europe (London, Brussels, Prague, and Lucerne) this year. We had 5-star hotel reservations in London, Brussels, and Prague, but this hotel was the absolute best of any hotel during this trip. The hotel, itself, is gorgeous and the staff are all super friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and the views are simply amazing. We arrived pretty late, as we had a daytime flight from the US to London, and upon arrival everything was ready for our check-in. We ordered room service as most restaurants nearby were already closed. Room service was prompt and good (although a bit expensive), it was very nice to have this option since we just needed to eat and go to bed. The room was a bit warm for us, but after contacting the front desk, it was easily remedied and we had a cooler room for the rest of our stay. The location of the hotel is excellent to nearby markets, restaurants, bars, and the tube. The infinity pool is gorgeous and there are plenty of other amenities on this floor as well. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and hope we can stay here again soon.

Amazing stay. Absolutely enjoyed the view and the room, especially the bath tub. However I didn't like the shower pressure, it was too weak, would be great if it could be fixed. Service-wise, I asked for a remote for the TV screen in the bathroom, the service took over 15 minutes to arrive, was expecting quicker than that. Paid for a birthday decoration, however needed to wait for over 30 minutes for the setup, again expected could go straight into the room after check in.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Amazing hotel, amazing service and gorgeous night views. As soon as you walk in you're enveloped in their luxurious scent. Highly recommend!! Large room with floor to ceiling windows. They have automated blackout curtains which really helps with sleeping in. Nespresso machine in the room with a selection of pods, binoculars to enjoy the views, heated toilet seat with fancy bidet built in and lots of outlets to charge all your gadgets. Gorgeous pool, friendly pool staff. We can't wait to go back!

While the price up front may seem quite daunting, it is certainly worth every penny. The staff were exceptional, catering to our every need, especially Sonya, who was able to secure us bookings in the restaurants of our choice every evening with no problems at all. The room was unbelievable. The views out the window were worth the price alone. The restaurant in the hotel was exceptional as well, with the Mongolian Beef being my recommendation. In summary, the Shangri-La is a once in a lifetime experience that should not be missed.
