We had a really good time here as a scholar group. We spent 5 nights here and it was such a lovely time ! Since we were there for a whole week, we had the chance to try much of what the pub has to offer (Breakfast, Burgers, coffee and beers) and it was really really good and with good prices. Regarding the beds, It was also good, while it is for a single person each, the bunk bed was of good quality and we slept really well ! The cost of staying was also not that high. As you may have understood, we deeply appreciated our stay here and we definitely recommend !

Location is amazing, within 5 miles off all the major sightseeings. So you can walk or take public transport if you want to everything is close by. Very positive vibe in the pub, in the evening quit a busy place but you could retreat to the back outside for a more quiet place to sit if thats more to your liking. You got a wide choice of beer, whiskey, wine and other kinds of drinks. And then there are the burgers and breakfast choices you can make all well prepared. A good price for a nights sleep. Could the beds and sleeping space improve ofcourse but that would also take the price up. You get a pretty comfortable bed with exactly enough space to sleep in it. There is a locker to put some precious stuff in. And i had a ubs and elektric point right at my bed sight. Friendly staff and willing to help if they can. I would surely reccomend it. Just a note to the people who sleep lightly, take some earplug with you, even tho everyone tries to be as quite as they can, its impossible to move without making a noise.

4.5 but worth rounding up. I think I’ve found my new favorite pub in the Waterloo area! A great craft beer menu, friendly staff, and good food at a good price. Loved that it wasn’t too crowded, but I did go on a Sunday afternoon, so next visit I’ll have to check it out on a Friday or Saturday to compare and see. Lots of seating. Outdoor area. Cute space. See you next time!

I stayed here for one night during my visit to London and had a great experience overall. The dorms were clean, calm, and comfortable, perfect for a short stay. Each bed has a reading light and charging point, which makes it easy to use your phone or laptop without disturbing others. Lockable boxes are provided for storing your luggage - about 40x30x20 cm in size, ideal for small bags or backpacks. It's better to carry your own lock and key, but you can also buy one from the reception if needed. There's also a separate baggage storage area available for a small charge, which is handy if you want to explore after checkout. The showers and toilets were spotless, with good water pressure. The staff were friendly, polite, and always ready to help. One thing I really liked is the z4-hour bar - a great place to relax or meet other travellers. The location is another big plus: it's within walking distance to the London Eye, so most attractions are easily reachable. The overall vibe was peaceful and safe. For the price and location, this dormitory offers excellent value and comfort. I'd definitely stay here again.

My wife Amber and I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights and it was great! Very well priced, staff was excellent, food and beer were excellent and affordable, rooms and bathrooms were clean. Now remember, it’s a hostel so if you aren’t ready for snoring people, small spaces and possibly busy and wet floored bathrooms, just don’t do the Hostel thing. Steam Engine was in a great location where we could get anywhere quickly by bus or tube but could enjoy a quiet night for drinks. Also get the breakfast deal, so worth the extra 50 bucks. Thank you to Emily, Victor, Hannah (I believe was her name, blonde with glasses manager) and everyone else that made our trip and experience in London awesome!

Stumbled across this place whilst trying to find somewhere for a family of four to eat after a day out at the Imperial War Museum. The burgers (both meat and vegetarian options) were delicious, as were the fries. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They also have accommodation above the pub (entry is through the bar) which is very handy Although this is not local to me, I would definitely go here again if I'm in the area.

I’ve seen these pub / hostels before and for whatever reason didn’t think to stop in. My mum is in town and we went on a big tour today. She was tired of walking and this was on our way home from the tube station. First impression: the atmosphere was great, the burgers were great. Tons of variety (including more than 1 veggie option!) and of course the beer was nice. Will be back for another taste.

great pub, great vibes, friendly staff, affordable & yummy food! the burgers were really yummy and affordable, from Β£7 to Β£9.5+ they offered 20% NHS discount which was a great plus! came here for a work social & had a great time especially since the World Cup games were showing too. Would def come back for the burgers they were delicious!

Very nice place for a lunch meeting. The atmosphere was really nice and although not overly busy, still had a good vibe. We ordered the burgers and they were cooked fresh to order. Both delicious juicy and very good value at Β£10 each. There is a good mix of people and would imagine it's a great venue for an evening out too. I will be back to see how it is for sure. Its really nice to find a busy pub just off of the beaten track!
