In 2019, i stayed here for 5 days on a school trip. Good old days. I was 15 then, now about to be 22. The location was very good. Just outside of central london and has a park nearby. I stayed in late june. Loved the london weather. In meditterranean countries it would be a torture to walk +10 km in summer.

Attend a friend's 30th party in a function room. Lovely Evening. Fabulous large function room. The Party was hosted by Family themselves.

The room was clean and tidy. And check in was smooth. All info was provided and help was given promptly when asked. We stayed for 3 nights and had a good stay. The only thing which left a bitter taste in this whole experience was a staff at breakfast on our last day( Friday) . I am unable to have any solid food first thing in the morning, and asked at reception on our first day whether a grab and go back can be arranged and I can have my hot drink at table with my family. The staff were really nice and provided me with grab and go bag for me for 2 mornings. The final morning when I asked for a grab and go, a rude gentleman plainly refused. He was unpleasant and abrupt. Finally the lady at the reception and another lady staff at the breakfast area sorted the problem swiftly by getting me a bag. However this man staff never apologised after the incident. Well, I guess there is always one in a competent staff group who tends to be awkward and biased. Kudos to other staff who work hard and are competent. Generally a good stay, equipped with good travel options. We took the tube easily into central London from Newbury park.

We stayed here for one night for a family event. We chose this hotel due to the location and for the specifics around covid hygiene. For those reasons, we score it highly. There are one way systems in use as well as plenty of signs and other good ideas. Such as a pot of pens (to use when signing and checking in) and a pot to put the used pens, to avoid contamination. At breakfast, 2 staff members are there to take your order and walk through each area, so you can see what food and drink is on offer and they will sort it all out for you. Really well done to Holiday Inn for these covid smart approaches! I only gave it 4 stars because I think the car park lay out is very odd, as you enter a different companies car park to get to the hotel one. Then the disabled bays aren't clearly marked and therefore I saw lots of disabled parking bays taken up by non blue badge holders. Also in general, due to the layout of the car park to the busy road, and breaks in the bushes, it feels like there could be security issues. The room are fairly good size and good lay out. The mod cons are simple but effective. All nice and clean and I think they've done a good job for the price! The window panelling means that when it rains, you will hear it! Especially at night.

I stayed here from the night of Friday 28th August until Tuesday morning but I was meant to stay for 2 weeks. Glad I didn't! Here are the good points. The room was very spacious and had everything needed including a nice big bed. The bathroom had a proper shower and space for toiletries. There was wifi and breakfast included. Now for the bad, on Sunday and Monday morning I was queuing for breakfast and was told by a member of staff to go to the other side where it said no entry. When I did that another member of staff said the queues over there. Then I tried to explain what I was told by the first member of staff but unfortunately she didn't understand much english. These mixed messages shouldn't happen. I've got no problem with people not being english but if you're going to work in a hotel or similar accommodation you need to know and understand the basics. Also this member of staff that didn't know much english kept staring at me when I was eating. The other bad thing was later on Sunday morning I had gone down to reception to ask about cleaning which I was given a bit of paper about that said I had to choose a 4 hour slot in advance which is fair enough but it failed to mention that cleaning was between 9am and 1pm which I found out from the member of staff who expected me to already know. Then I said can I have the cleaning the next day (Monday) between 9 and 10am and she said no because it has to be 4 hour slot. I said well how am I supposed to choose a 4 hour slot when 9am until 1pm is 4 hours. She then ignored me and spoke to the person behind me who also wanted cleaning done the next day. He asked for an hour slot after 12pm. I waited until he'd gone because it wasn't his fault. It was the staff's fault. I did have a go at the member of staff for ignoring me and for not treating me the same as as the man. I did swear a bit but only out of frustration and not directed at anyone. I then went up to my room and when I came back down to resolve the situation and apologise for swearing the staff member apologised to for not treating me fairly and said my room would be cleaned the next day at the time I wanted. So I then thought everything was fine but Tuesday morning I went to meet with my social worker who told me the hotel staff wanted me to leave even though it had been resolved. This has led me to write this review

Nice friendly staff and centralised location. There's parking and reasonable by London's standards and costs at time of writing £5 for 24 hours. The rooms are clean and spacious with options for families as well as couples. Secured by a lift which only lets you get to reception. To access the floors with rooms you need your room card. I'd use it again.
