The welcome from the staff here (especially Ava) was wonderful on a cold snowy morning. The menu choices were varied and as Ava mentioned you can mix and match things to make your very own personal breakfast choices. The food quality was excellent and cooked to perfection. Both Jonathon & Ava engaged in friendly banter with us which was well received. All in all the whole experience was great. You get what you pay for as they say and the cost reflected the quality on offer. Would give six stars if I could!

Superb breakfast. Covered terrace area so we could have our dog with us there. Service friendly and very knowledgeable about allergies and menu choice. I'm gluten intolerant and almost all the menu could be adapted. Delicious.

Really nice locally owned cafe! We had the chicken tikka sandwich on their homemade bread! Menu is small and quite unique so fussier eaters might struggle though there is a note that they are happy to make things off menu if they can! Prices are slightly higher than normal for sandwiches but likely similar to the area. A little cramped inside hence the 4 star for atmosphere. Really worth a visit if you like a unique and different menu as I do!

1) Food was amazing. We got the pork belly sandwich which was delicious. the pork belly was so soft and tender. the pork crackling was so good! Crisp and crunchy. The truffle fries were crispy and you can taste the hints of truffle. Delicious. 2) staff were lovely. They were just so friendly and one noticed I had used up my napkin to wrestle with the sandwich so she brought me another one, itβs just little things like that. I would totally come back again if Iβm in York. Just a cute little shop with delicious food and good people.

Went in on Wednesday morning around 10am there was a few tables in already, we were met with a warm welcome and given a choice of tables to sit. We were regularly checked on, the service was quick and the food was hot and fresh. I got the full English minus mushrooms and black pudding. Eggs could have been a bit runnier but you canβt be perfect every time. Cappuccino was excellent and Iβve never tried that biscuit before but it was nice! Testament to its reputation for good food all the tables were full by the time we left!

Brilliant brunch! you must have to try this dish, and servicers are really handsome and pretty. made my brunch tastier. But for Chinese remember, the hot lemon water was charged Β£1.5, not free .

I opted for this venue for my final lunch in York based on the queue for a table, which I happily joined. As soon as a table was available, I was shown through to the back of the Bistro. There's a drinks menu, and the food available for the day is located on the chalkboards around the venue. The gentleman managing the Bistro was doing a fantastic job. He had a lovely way with all the waiting customers, was clearing tables, and to be fair doing any other job required whilst it was busy. Items came off the menu temporarily throughout my visiting whilst more was being freshly prepared. I opted for Earl Grey tea, smoked bacon and Cumberland sausage sandwich on brown, and chocolate orange cake. The waiting staff were polite, friendly, and super helpful. Family friendly including the dog. Facilities were clean and well kept, there were steps down and back up to the toilet. Another place that's definitely worth queuing for.

Lovely place! Perfect for a nice relaxed weekend breakfast. Excellent food. From outside the place looks rather tiny, however it offers various options in the small garden and in the small cozy dining room area at the back

Wow ! The food here is outstanding ! The staff here are so lovely and sweetly accommodating of requests. You know you found the right place when you donβt need to add salt to your food - because they do the flavors so well. 5 stars for food, ambience and service !
