Booked this last minute as we were going to stay in our campervan but decided it was going to be too cold. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and yes I will definitely agree the rooms are a bit tired and need updating but the sheets were clean, the bed was comfy. The fact that you got a free buffet breakfast, although not a huge selection, it was very much enjoyed. And again there's not much nearby as in attractions, just don't book it if you need all that. There's a local supermarket and a few pubs. We stayed here as we were going to Leeds Castle. So overall, it's cheap and cheerful and if you want something top class, stay somewhere else, I'd definitely stay again though.

★☆☆☆☆ Shockingly Bad Experience — Checked Out Within 30 Minutes I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this hotel was so unacceptable that I feel obligated to warn others. From the moment I walked into the room, I was hit with an overwhelming, unpleasant smell. I tried opening the windows to air it out, but the odor stayed because the room itself felt extremely unclean. There were stains on the carpet, on the chairs, and even on the walls. The pillows were yellowed, the lamps were broken, and I noticed mould and even spiders in the room. The toilet had what appeared to be old stool stains, which was completely unacceptable. Overall, I did not feel comfortable or safe in the room due to the general condition and the poor level of security. I called reception, and although the staff member did show me another room, it was in a similar state. At that point, we decided to check out less than 30 minutes after arriving. The worst part came afterward. When I spoke with the general manager, Basheer, the next day to calmly explain the situation, the conversation became extremely unpleasant. In my experience, he raised his voice, and he black mailed me and said I would only receive a refund if I didn’t leave a bad review. He hung up on me which was extremely unprofessional, which left me even more disappointed with the overall customer service. This was one of the most shocking hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I would not return or recommend.I understand it’s a 3-star hotel, but the basic standard should still be cleanliness.

I feel it’s important to share my honest experience so future guests know what they may be walking into. We checked in and, within just 30 minutes, we had to check out because the room conditions were completely unacceptable. The room was filthy — there was visible mould in the bathroom, dust everywhere, spiders and spider webs around the windows inside the room, and a strange, unpleasant smell lingering throughout. The alternative rooms we were shown were just as bad as the original one. In my opinion, the entire property felt like a serious health and safety hazard. When we spoke to the on-site manager, we were told he had no power to issue a refund and that only the general manager, Basheer, could make that decision. After we contacted Hotels.com, they reached out to him directly. The message we received back from Hotels.com stated: “Thanks for waiting patiently. I just spoke to their general manager and I’ve informed him about your situation and he informed me that the hotel will be approving a full refund only if you do not post or leave a review on the website.” This left us stunned. From my perspective, this came across as an attempt to prevent guests from sharing genuine feedback and to cover up the condition of the hotel. We are fully within our rights to leave an honest review, and we have photos to support everything we experienced. When we tried speaking to the general manager ourselves, the interaction was extremely unpleasant. In my personal experience, he was hostile and unreasonable, becoming angry when we tried to explain how bad the room conditions were. I did not feel he had any customer service skills or willingness to resolve the situation professionally. Instead, the entire conversation felt intimidating, and the mention of refund conditions made the situation feel even more uncomfortable. He thought that his blackmailing tactics would work just fine. Also when mentioned to him that I will be reporting the property to the relevant local authorities he questioned why am I threatening him. Overall, our stay lasted less than half an hour because the rooms were in such poor condition, and the handling of the situation made it even worse. Based on my experience with both the cleanliness and the management, I would strongly advise others to reconsider staying here.

We have spent the weekend here and were initially disappointed, because the room is smaller than we'd expected and needs refreshing. There are no sockets near the bed and only one bedside cabinet for a double room. However, we have enjoyed our stay; 1) staff are friendly and helpful 2) the hotel is clean and tidy, with welcoming communal areas. 3) Breakfast is delicious and several choices available, including complementary hot beverages. 4) Plenty of parking 5) despite needing updating, rooms have a tea tray, hairdryer and iron.

“The Ideal Place for a Special Celebration” We recently held our vow renewal reception at this hotel, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, the staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect for our special day. The event space was beautifully prepared, elegant, and welcoming — exactly the atmosphere we had hoped for. We had requested a flower arch for the ceremony, and the team arranged it beautifully, which made the setting even more romantic and memorable. The catering team provided delicious food that our guests are still raving about, and the service throughout the evening was attentive without ever being intrusive. Our bedroom was also spacious and comfortable, with a charming four-poster bed and a cozy couch. While the furnishings showed a touch of age, everything was perfectly nice and added to the character of our stay. What stood out most was the genuine care and professionalism of the entire team. They listened to our vision, accommodated every request with patience, and made us feel completely at ease. Thanks to their hard work, we were able to relax and enjoy celebrating with our loved ones. Our guests complimented not only the setting but also the smooth flow of the evening, which is all thanks to the hotel’s excellent planning and staff. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue for such a meaningful occasion. This hotel will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone planning an event or simply looking for an exceptional stay.

Awful customer service - I had them booked for my wedding night (10 rooms in total). I accidentally found out that they going to be closed for renovation (mind-blowing) and they are "looking to relocate us somewhere else". With less than 4 weeks to go to my wedding, I asked when they were thinking of telling me this information, and they said (very casually) - a week before...... One good thing is that I got my money back, but the amount of stress these unprofessional people cased to me and my guests is unbelievable. Needless to say: won't be recommending this place to anyone.

This hotel is really good, spacious and clean rooms, the food is good here dining and breakfast. I also want to thank Ethan who is one of the staff members who works there he made it felt like i was staying at a 4-5 star hotel with the level of service he was providing to me he went over and beyond and i hope the owner of the hotel sees this review and reward him for his amazing work. The only umfortunate thing i have to say about this is that i probably won't be back as i was attending a work course and live far away but if i did have 2 come back in the future however i would love to stay here again. Thank you Hamlet Larkfield for my stay.

I visited here with my husband for a weekend. After reading the reviews I was concerned! The building itself is gorgeous. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good enough. All of the interiors need updating but that's ok. What has been updated is very noticeable and now looks modern. We were upgraded to a four poster suite. The room itself was fine. Wasn't great and the bathroom was probably as big as the bedroom itself! We were only given 1 towel though which is weird but we phoned down and more was brought to our room. We had dinner in your room too. For the price you pay it wasn't great. The bed was comfortable enough. This hotel is what you would expect for a 3 star. Overall it was a nice enough hotel and we had a good stay.

Terrible experience. Gave me an allergic reaction and i don’t ever suffer from allergies I suspect mould or dust mites given the state of the room. Very poorly lit room with broken light fixtures. Staff was able to give me a desk lamp but not nearly enough to light up a room to do my work. Furniture and decor is outdated and run down including in the bathroom do not believe the pictures. Overall horrid room experience, besides the food and kind staff, and so I will not be returning

It has to be said, this hotel has seen better days. It's looking a bit sad with threadbare carpets on the stairs and out of date decor in the rooms. A TV that's not held together with duct tape would also help. But these things are superficial niceties. The main questions one should ask are 1. Is the food good and 2. Are the staff good. And the answers are yes and yes. Will I be coming back? Abso blooming lutely!
