Location or good sleep? If you want sleep for your trip, i wouldn’t recommend this hostel. The cathedral rings in the midnight and early morning and you’ll hear the door slum, chat and steps in corridor as the building is old. No self-catering kitchen but you can use hot water dispenser in the dining area. Cold water is available from the tap in your washbasin. Luggage locker costs 2-3£ (only coins) or just drop in the storage room. The most advantage here is location but the neighbor Wombat Hostel is also good distance from landmarks with sturdy building.

Now I really should have believed the other review a months ago (regarding the room smelling like socks or shoes), for me it’s probably just bad luck (I stayed here twice and the other time the other room smelt completely fine, but decide for yourself if you would like to take the risk, they may be fully booked and cannot move you anywhere else. I just decided I would prefer having £20 go down the drain)

I’m not really sure why this place is well reviewed - I found it subpar, and I’ve stayed at many hostels. I picked this one for the good reviews, location, and because it’s run by a non-profit. The bad: - Our whole floor REEKED of stinky feet the entire 3 days. Almost overpoweringly stinky. - WiFi doesn’t reach the rooms. - Tons of fire doors that slam shut like crazy, meaning sleeping in is difficult. Plus, it took FOUR separate card taps to get to our room. - The place’s social vibe is off — almost nobody was staying there, seemingly. It’s definitely NOT a social hostel, don’t go expecting to make friends. The good: - The front desk was helpful and kind and the location is excellent.

Best for the location, price, suprisingly comfort bedding. They have friendly staff. Shower needs you to purchase shampoo and rent towels- still economical. Breakfast is good, but continental is enough - I bought buffet and felt it a waste.

I had a good stay overall. The staff were always polite and welcoming. My single room was clean, with block-out curtains and a handy bedside lamp, though only one of the USB sockets worked. The main drawbacks were the thin walls and the cathedral bells at night. Also, as stated by other guests, there’s no lift or air conditioning, but with London’s short summers, it wasn’t a big deal. The pricing is very affordable considering its central location.

Does what it says on the tin! Really helpful and friendly staff. Private room for three people was slightly smaller than expected but it wasn’t really an issue when only staying for one night. Be aware that the chimes from St Paul’s can be heard throughout the night so definitely bring earplugs or pick some up from reception!

The place is good for a group night stay, it has got decent dorm style bed. Considering the location, the accommodation pricing is cheap! Located in an idle place, from where you got access to almost all great places to visit in London.

The best hostel I have stayed in London. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms are big, comfortable and clean. There is also an option for English and continental breakfast. Hostel is situated in a very convenient location in the centre of London, close to everything. I forgot a phone in the room and the staff returned to me when I came back, they have put it in the safe place for me. Very kind of them! Thank you again! I will definetly come back.

Hostel located near St. Paul's, close to subways, river and half an hour's walk from Trafalgar Square. Clean and basic rooms, we had a sink in the room as well as shared toilets and showers, always clean. Delightful staff, always available (24 hours a day). Paid breakfast purchased at the time of booking, really good and open (sausages including veg, eggs, bacon, beans, brioches, yogurt, jams, tea, coffee and fruit juices at will). We will definitely be back!

Basic hostel that is having some refurbishment done to the exterior of the building. The interior needs some work too - the bathroom felt like a hospital wet room. The bed was comfy though. Friendly staff. The water refill station didn’t work - the water was warm !! There was cold water in the breakfast buffet - but this tasted tainted by plastic. Value was good though.
