Reading the recent reviews, I've seen I'm not the only one. Two months ago, I booked a studio for April, and a week ago, at 2:00 AM, they notified me that my reservation was no longer possible due to unforeseen circumstances. It's a disgrace. Besides seeing that there is availability for the dates I was going to stay, it's three times the price; apparently, they made a mistake listing the weekly prices. We, the guests, are not to blame for their incompetence, and they haven't offered any solution. This place is a disgrace.

Our experience here was simply excellent! All the staff members were incredibly helpful and welcoming. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Minty deserves a special shout-out—she was exceptionally kind and went above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed.

Me and my partner stayed here for three nights while on vacation from the US. We were pleased with the size of the rooms and the staff were generally helpful and pleasant. However, we had several issues with our overall stay. Remember, these are student dorms that are rented out for hotel prices in the off season. Only the building and staff are not equipped for hotel service. We ended up requesting to move rooms because of the horrible cigarette smell, only to be put into another room that smelled of cigarette smoke just slightly less. When we got to our next hotel and opened our suitcases all our clothing and belongings smelled like cigarette smoke as well. We are hard sleepers but the noise is a bit of an issue, maybe less for us because we came in the off season for travel. We were both sick with a cold and just did not have the energy to fight it so we just endured… Overall, a below average experience for the price. Not the fault of the few staff who were very nice and helpful.

The location is fantastic, ideally situated near the university, making it incredibly convenient for students and visitors alike. The security team is exceptionally helpful and professional, always ready to assist with a friendly demeanor. A special thank you to Sheriff, who consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the safety and well-being of both residents and visitors like myself. His dedication to looking out for our best interests truly makes a difference in our experience here.

Short review: Avoid this hotel. It has a bedbug infestation and is a serious health hazard. Long review: I strongly advise against staying here. - After my first night, I woke up with around 30 tracking bedbug bites across my arms, legs, back, neck, groin, buttocks, and face. - I reported this at 9am, but staff initially denied the problem and asked me to prove there were bedbugs, despite the obvious bite marks. - I received no apology and waited over two hours before a new room was arranged. I wasn’t given access until 5pm. - Shockingly, the concierge suggested I take the bedding from the infested room and use it in the new room. An appalling and unsafe response. It didn’t end there: - The “replacement” room had no toilet roll or towels, showing a complete lack of basic preparation. - At 2am, I was unexpectedly asked to move rooms yet again, causing further disruption. - In the lobby, a staff member loudly referred to me as “the guest who complained about bedbugs”, effectively calling me out in front of other guests. - Staff continued to question and downplay my experience, rather than addressing the clear health and safety issue. This hotel is clearly not equipped to handle an active infestation, and the staff’s response was both unprofessional and dismissive. For your own health and peace of mind, I cannot recommend staying here.

The worst place to stay! The lift hasn’t been working since the past 4 days and everyday the staff gives fake hopes that it would work and we are working on it but the fact is they aren’t. I stay on the sixth floor imagine using the stairs for 4 days!

A really enjoyable experience living at Chapters Old Street so far. The customer experience is second to none. The staff is extremely friendly (shoutout to William and Jonathan) and have readily assisted me in several occasions. The facilities at the accomodation are top notch and the resident community is quite tight knit. One of the best student accomodations in London and would definitely recommend to anyone attending university in Central and East London.

My room was not cleaned properly when I arrived. There are also broken furniture. My neighbours were extremely noisy. I reported noise problem during night hours (like 1-3 AM) over tens times and nothing has changed. These students acted like their room is a dance floor — singing, dancing, screaming at night.

I have stayed with chapter for two years and I have had a lovely time here. Overtime the management has changed and now they don’t care what’s happening. They charge massive rent and then have construction going on everyday starting at 8 am even on the weekends. No one responds to the emails you send. Would avoid the place because you can never get a good night sleep anymore and no one to actually respond and resolve issues

Poor service. Electricity and internet is always cut off without any compensation. You can't imagine when everything in your room need electricity, the only thing you can do is sitting there at midnight or in the morning...
