   DO NOT BUY A PET FROM THIS STORE! i bought a hermanns tortoise from this shop and he passed away only 10 days after I purchased him. When I bought him I noticed he was making a clicking noise and that his shell was dull in colour, they had him in a vivarium which tortoises should NOT be kept in. I told them I had all the stuff I needed for a tortoise but they refused to sell him to me unless I bought his vivarium and set up, I did this with no intention of putting him in the Viv as I've spent many years researching tortoises and I am fully aware of the needs for tortoise housing, so I put him in the tortoise table if already purchased. He had uvb and uva lighting and basking area set to correct temps tortoises need a basking zone and cooler zone so they can move to and from each zone as and when needed. He was fed on all the right foods adviced by the tortoise table app. I left a review about my concerns that my tortoise was ill on there Facebook page they blocked me. I rang them up to inform them he had passed away the women screamed at me and basically said it was my fault and denied that I'd told them they shouldn't be kept in a Viv and tried to imply it's because he wasn't in the Viv they forced me to buy. My research tells me for an animal to die only 10 days after buying it from a shop that it probably was sick before I purchased him and stress of moving would have caused the illness to advance. I will be seeking legal advice and contacting trading standards I will NOT stop until this shop has it's pet trading licence removed. First photo day I got him dull and dry, second you can see he has more moisture in his shell.

   Do not buy from this pet shop. I purchased a cockatiel from them three months ago and he died recently, Ozzy was my pride and joy when I took him to the vet for a checkup because I was noticing signs of illness (in on a animal nursing assistants college course) the vet told me that based on how sick he was that he’d been ill since before I purchased him and that it was a catching disease so many other of the birds he was around and housed with were most probably sick too. It broke my heart when he passed away and talking to others who have purchased from here that their animals after having a vet check have either died or been very sick and cost a lot to treat. This ship has made it abundantly clear that it does not care for its animals and is only after the money they can get out of people who do care for them. Never buy from this pet shop. I’m overly disappointed and disturbed by the lack of care these animals receive. I’m sorry to anyone who has had this same thing happen to their beloved animals. Rest in peace to my beautiful Ozzy.

   Staff are always welcoming and helpful. The birds/guinea pigs/bunnies generally seem happy (and cute) and well provided for. Good selection of products (better quality hay) and a generous loyalty card thingy. Been going for years and will continue to - I bought my bunny here in 2018 (not pictured!) Parking near the test centre can be a pain but not the fault of the pet center of course.

   Wanted to buy birds as birthday gift for my daughter. Surprised to hear that shop is not sell the pets after 17:30 as per council rule which looks funny to me but shop remain open until 18:00. I reached at 17:42. They should write clearly that they do not sell after 17:30. Will be great to know if someone can pass the link to the council specifying this criteria.

   It's very well stocked, and the prices are reasonable. Got my cat a lovely pet scratch post and a new litter tray. The staff were very helpful and let me leave the scratch post to come back and collect as I couldn't carry it.

   Well all I can say is I'm glad I didn't take notice of some of the few negative reviews that people have put on about this store! Lovely shop, superb range, great prices and most importantly excellent customer service. I do not live that local to Shirley but will certainly make the special journey from now on for all my pet supplies.

   I went today to buy something for my puppy and staff was helpful but I ve overhead one of them being really upset about a foreign customer who couldn't speak English and she was also making fun of her with another customer after she left. As a foreign myself even if I can speak English ( took me a few years and courses to get here ) I find it really disrespectful and I will never buy anything from the store again just because of that rasism attitude! Later reply: I can't answer to your comment just to edit here. About your response: you're absolutely lying. I know what I have heard and she was absolutely upset and making fun about how she was trying to speak English but she couldn't. Stop lying and learn your staff to leave their mean comments for when they go home! You should have apologised not say all these lies! Listen to that audio again and stop lying!

   The pet shop is lovely. Pleasant staff. I take my daisy to Sam the groomer. She does a wonderful job. Daisy always looks gorgeous when she's been. I always get comments on daisy and how lovely she looks. Wouldn't take her anywhere else.
