Great knowledge and advice from friendly staff. Amazing selection of fish.

Fish look extremely healthy, tanks well maintained. However the cost of hardscape materials , rock etc appear well overpriced. For that reason I browsed internet and purchased 25 kg really decent dragon stone for £55 Inc delivery. My advice, don't mark up rocks etc so heavily.

Brought a full tropical set up today, just wanted to leave a review for the member of staff that helped us. Minesh was very helpful and patient answered all of questions and pointed us in the right direction and talked us through the whole process. His enthusiasm and knowledge was very much appreciated and helped us make the right decisions, we will be back to see him soon when it’s time for some fish. Hopefully someone will see this and pass on the recognition he deserves.

My husband and kids went to buy fish, and he was really impressed with how healthy all the fish looked in this branch. We bought 3 guppies, and they are all absolutely amazing! We also picked up some salt and a KH solution. We’ll definitely be coming back again. We used to buy our fish from Pets at Home, but compared to those, these ones are so much healthier and more vibrant. A special thank you to Mike, who helped us and provided such friendly and amazing service. He really made the experience even better!

Good shop with very helpful staff and good prices . Also has a big range of different things for different fish. Went and they didn't have the tank we wanted in but happily arranged for us to get it from another store .

Impossible to get to. Sat navigation could not get us there because of roadworks. Used to love going to Shirley shop, shan't bother wasting my time driving round in circles.

Really good place to get fish and fish items. Also there tanks are a really good price. They also do payment plans which could help people who can’t afford a tank up front.

Very poor condition of fish! See photos of our most recent visit. Our previous visit was 9 months back when we spent in excess of £75. 5 of 6 neon tetras died, 5 of the 6 fancy guppies died, the clown loach disappeared never to be seen again and 1 of 3 glass catfish died. I then noticed other fish in our well established tank were showing signs of fin rot and began quickly treating. Unfortunately a rope fish that had been with us for three years passed after developing a redness around the gills. Annoyed, I put it down as "one of those very unfortunate things". Today we were visiting the garden centre next door and thought I'd call in to see if they had a rope fish as my son is desperate to have him replaced. What I saw in this Aquatics shop horrified me. Several fish showing advanced stages of fin rot, white spot fungus, mouth rot, cotton eye (one fish already lost an eye) swim bladder. None of these had been isolated. Countless dead fish left in tanks at various stages of decomposition which as any fish keeper would know poses a major problem for water condition and enables disease to spread easily. There was an isolation bucket that had been left out with a dead barb and several other very ill fish. The airline was supplying no air and I'm extremely doubtful any treatment had been given and whatever tank they had come out of had not been isolated from the filtration system.
