For Vinci This past week asked more of us than we expected. Uncertainty sat in the background, constant and heavy - until we met Vinci. Vincenzo, in full. An internal medicine specialist from near Venice, with calm in his voice and precision in his care. Con una calma che rassicura, he never rushed decisions. He explained, listened, and guided - treating Gwen not as a case, but as a life that mattered because she matters to us. What he gave Gwen was expertise and patience. What he gave us was steadiness - honest reassurance, without false comfort, and the feeling that we were not carrying this alone. Tonight, Gwen came home. That single sentence holds the whole week. Our sincere thanks to Vinci, and to the team at Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists, for care that balanced science with humanity at exactly the moments it was needed most.

Our new puppy needed a PDA operation when he was 4 months old. We were recommended Southern Counties Practice by the Vet who did his ultrasound scan. We found the whole process of the operation well explained by the Consultant and were very happy to go ahead. Everything went as planned and got our puppy back after a 2 night stay at the clinic. Extremely happy with the outcome and all of the staff and would recommend this clinic ourselves

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, showing genuine concern for my pet’s wellbeing. They went above and beyond to accommodate visits and kept me updated throughout. Lola was facing a 50/50 chance, but thanks to their patience, dedication, and care, she pulled through and made it home. I’m deeply grateful for everything they did. Thank you

Lovely premises and a great experience , our greyhound was referred urgently for a pacemaker fitting , they were able to book her in really quickly, I stayed over locally and was able to visit her after surgery. All the team there were lovely and very empathetic and the communication from them was second to none . Great care all round .

Brilliant! Before our appointment we got the call from the Referral team. She made sure we understood the whole process and what to expect on the day (+ insurance claim info). On the day of the appointment everyone was really welcoming and helpful. The vet and team were patient with my anxious dog and very thorough. The type of place you don’t want to come back, but for different reasons. Absolutely brilliant service!!! ++++ they have a play area whilst you wait for lab results.

I honestly couldn't recommend these vets enough. We've been in with our Dobermann for skin condition and hip dysplasia. In both cases they were amazing every time. Siobhan (dermatology)was outstanding helping us resolve his skin conditions. The whole clinic is filled with extremely lovely people who help ever way they can. Thank you so much for making a hellish situation less lonely.

The most kind and caring vets who do the most amazing job. Charlotte and her team in oncology are amazing. Not only did they treat my dog for cancer (touch wood it's all gone) they also cured her fear of vets. We got to the point roxy dragged me in to see them . Honestly can not fault them and very highly recommend them. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our fur babies xxxx

I wish I could give zero stars. My experience of these vets has been traumatic to say the least. We were given incorrect info and not informed properly. I felt we were not given the full factors of a surgery we opted to have for our dog who shouldn’t have had the surgery in hindsight and had to be put to sleep 4 days afterwards. They discharged our dog too early as well, I think they knew he wasn’t going to make it but they didn’t tell us how bad it was. They gave us the wrong instructions to feed him and incorrect amount of medication. I wrote them a letter outlining what I thought their failings were and they sent a very blunt letter back. I got in touch with a group that offered mediation and they contacted SCVS and they refused to speak with me. I wasn’t after money just acceptance they they needed to change some of their procedures. They employ some clueless interns who have no idea how to handle animals, our one tried to juggle a clip board and hold our very sick dog with one arm. The same intern then gave all the wrong instructions on how to feed our dog through a feeding tube, it was a good job we consulted a vet nurse friend. Our dog should not have had that treatment and the guilt I have for listening to their incorrect advice and not my gut, with stay with me forever.

Our anxious dog had a hernia repair and castration operation last week. I cannot rate this place highly enough. The consultant vet and the other staff we spoke to were so helpful, professional and friendly. The new animal hospital was clean and modern. They have changed the life of our dog for the better and for that we are extremely grateful.
