Fabulous stay in a beautiful and quiet cottage in Holtby near York Michelle was a great host, very welcoming, and provided everything we needed. Such a charming place! Set in absolute piece and tranquility I loved every minute of my stay at Willoughby’s Loft at Darcys cottages. Michelle was so attentive and helped me with my train tickets so my trip was hassle free. I loved having my tea and watch the chickens running up and down the field! I would love to return x
Recently had a three night stay at Darcy's Cottage. The property was stunning and spacious, with everything we needed in there. Situated in a village just outside of York, it was easy to get in to town from Darcy's Cottage (15 mins). Dog friendly too which is a huge selling point to us & he was very comfortable there (n.b. the stairs up to the bedroom are quite steep - may be worth keeping in mind if you have older/smaller dogs). The village was also a great base to explore the stunning Yorkshire coast; where you are able to get to Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington etc all in under an hour by car. The host was also brilliant, friendly and easy to contact if needed. Make you feel very welcomed with some nice personal touches.
An amazing little hideaway for a UK break. Gorgeous views and a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The owners are friendly and approachable, and more than willing to help. The loft was well appointed, with a Juliet balcony that would be amazing in the summer. The bed was impressive, although favours people who prefer a softer mattress. The underfloor heating in the bathroom is luxurious when stepping out of the shower and keeps the room warm and welcoming. The kitchen is well stocked and the fresh scones were the best I've eaten! We will definitely be back, we'll try one of the other properties next time!
We spent a week at Darcy's cottage and didn't want to leave. A fantastic cottage in a superb location to visit whitby or York. Or if you wanted to just relax in Holtby and stay in, the bathroom is the room to be in. It is gorgeous. We would definitely recommend and be back. Also the welcome pack was lovely the home made jam was amazing. Thank you.
I recommend Darcy's Cottage not only for the friendly welcome we received from Michelle but the standard of the cottage is exceptional. It is perfect, very quaint and cosy. The icing on the cake was the home made jam, lemon drizzle cake and Michelle being kind and thoughtful, a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge to help me celebrate my birthday. Can't wait for our next visit. Thank you Michelle for a memorable break.
Darcys cottage is a fabulous place to stay. Excellent attention to detail that really makes a difference - fresh scones on arrival. Very tastefully decorated and furnished. Well equipped kitchen. We've been a few times now and it is always a pleasure.
I'm reluctant to say how wonderful this place is, I can't have it becoming too popular as we will definitely be returning! Michelle is a wonderful host, Darcy's cottage really is a wonderful escape, perfect for visiting beautiful York and it's glorious countryside! The cottage is well equipped and beautifully furnished, a lovely log burner, most comfortable of beds and the most relaxing bathroom! Perfect! And the dog loved it too! Thank you Michelle and family! We will be back!
