We stayed in Room 1 for 2 nights. It’s a small room but beautifully presented and had everything we needed, comfortable bed, warm and cosy. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and the service is excellent. Great choice for breakfast and all of the food was delicious. It’s just a short walk along the river bank to the town centre, great location. Good value for money too. We will definitely stay again.

All in all, not a bad hotel, great location only a ten minute walk to York Minster. Parking is £12.50 a day opposite the hotel. Our room was a small double but adequate and clean, with tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was poor, but it got us clean, yes in need of updating, but would not put us off returning. The staff are great and friendly. Lovely breakfast with great choices.

We’ve stayed here before and will definitely stay again. Fantastic guests house. Very welcoming staff. The rooms are clean and have everything you need it them. We chose the full English breakfast, it was well presented, warm and tasty. The location is great and parking is just outside the guest house. You can’t knock it and the price is very reasonable for York.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The whole place feels incredibly romantic, from the atmosphere to the beautiful walk that leads you right into the city center. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and everything felt thoughtfully prepared. The breakfast was amazing – fresh, delicious, and a perfect start to the day. I was genuinely very satisfied with my stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a charming and romantic place close to the heart of the city.

We stayed one night and had breakfast at this nice guesthouse. It was very quiet all night and we had all the facilities we needed. Everything was clean and we were able to adjust the heating if we got chilly. The breakfast was superb with orange juice already on the table when we arrived, and a choice of tea or coffee. All instructions previous to arrival were easy to follow. The location is good, just above the train station. It is only a short, delightful walk into the city centre from the guesthouse. I will definitely be staying here again next time I am in York!

Brilliant little hotel at an absolute bargain price. The accommodation, the staff and the food way under excel the pricing. Our room, whilst small (we was told about size when booking) was amazing. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, bathroom presented as if it was brand new and plenty of drinks all on display. Breakfast (included in room price!!) was just sensational. Good coffee, choice of anything you could imagine, including fresh fruit salad. The cooked element was fresh, sourced from local suppliers and just delicious. Very very much so would I recommend the guest house. Thank you for a wonderful experience

St. Mary's Guest house is ideally situated just about 10 minutes walk into York centre. The breakfast served was outstanding, a lovely full English breakfast served by very friendly, welcoming staff. The only thing that stopped us from giving a full five, is that in the bathroom of room 5, the heated towel rail had a water leak, plus there was a leak coming from the bottom of the toilet, when we entered the toilet there was always a puddle of water.

Stayed here for 3 nights and the room, service and location were brilliant. The room itself was very clean, bathroom was perfect including a good shower and the bed was super comfy. No noise and the breakfast was spot on. The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. Easy check in and check out and welcome to leave your luggage outside of your stay. Location wise was perfect only a short walk away from the train station and the city centre. Definitely coming back here again.

We have just stayed two nights at St Mary's guest house and can happily report that the place was warm, welcoming, very clean and perfect for a few nights only ten minutes walk from the main town centre. Situated on a nice quiet street away from the hustle and bustle. The decor is fresh but slightly dated which is in keeping with the age of the building but didn't affect our stay. The breakfast was fabulous and the waitresses very polite and friendly. I found the self check in after 3pm a little strange with no staff there but it worked perfectly. Would happily stay here again.

The house is situated perfectly with walking access to most places. All the main touristy spots are a walk away and even the train station is a 12 minute walk. We really enjoyed and appreciated the friendliness and professionalism of the staff there. Like a home from home...with enormous breakfasts!
