   When I retired I treated myself to a very expensive pair of brogue boots which were repaired over time at a specialist cobbler in Glossop. Real cobblers are a dwindling group of specialist professionals who have largely been replaced by high street alternatives such as Timpsons. I moved from Glossop and was desperately looking for a quality replacement cobbler. By chance I found this cobbler in Hoylake. Reluctantly I put my cherished boots in for annual sole and heel repair. The owner called me to discuss the repair in detail giving me a comprehensive range of options. He was friendly, polite and informative. I could tell he knew what he was talking about and my confidence grew. As promised four days later I got my boots back. All I can say is WOW. The products used for repair were of a high quality and the boots were finished off with a full aftercare polish. The cost of repair was very competitive and well worth it. This man is clearly a professional and I would highly recommend his services. This is the first Google review I’ve written but I felt compelled because of the excellent service I received. Huge relief I have found a proper old fashioned cobbler who actually knows what he’s talking about whilst avoiding inferior high street alternatives. Very best wishes Steve

   This cobblers shop is a rare find. This guy repaired a much loved 25 year old pair of trainers that other repairers wouldn't touch, at an unbelievably reasonable price. Worth travelling to if not local. Best cobbler, key cutter, etc., in the Liverpool and Wirral area in my opinion. The man is a craftsman, check out his Facebook page for photos of their work

   Brilliant service. I have a leg length discrepancy and it's hard to find nice shoes as I have to wear height adjusting insoles. However, Hoylake Cobblers have managed to raise the sole of my Reebok Classic trainers by 12mm, so I no longer require the insole in my shoe. This has greatly improved comfort and also means I can now choose a lot more shoes and simply have them adjusted. They have done a great job and it's really not noticeable at all! I will definitely be recommending and using them regularly going forward.

   Left pair of ankle boots thought beyond repair , could have waited to have reheeled and soled, but collected next day . They look new, polished and gorgeous . Great to support local small business as against big chains - husband going to bring watch in . Well done .

   Excellent service, I took two watches in to be repaired, fixed the first one in rough 10 seconds, left the other, after inspecting it he said he could replace a part but it might not fix the problem, no charge for either and courteous and polite.
