We stopped by this Japanese restaurant few months back and the experience was a major letdown. The quality of the food was shockingly poor, especially considering the high prices. The sushi was poorly prepared, lacking texture and flavor. Takoyaki lacked that umami,sweet-savoury taste and just tasted like very salty undercooked fried batter. The tempura was even worse: soggy, greasy, and nowhere near the light, crisp tempura you’d hope for. It was honestly hard to finish. Overall, I left feeling frustrated and unsatisfied. Definitely not worth the money, and I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for good Japanese food.

I really like this restaurant. My Asian friends took me there years ago for me to try a real Japanese cousine experience, and the quality haven’t changed in many years! The portions are also really good and with reasonable prices. And I love the atmosphere and the decorations!

horrible service. came in about a week ago with 2 friends of mine, asked for a table for 3; a lady and a man at the front have said hi, looked at us and simply continued their conversation avoiding any further eye contact right in frontal of us. At this point we were slightly confused and were simply standing there at the door, looking straight at them with no attention to us.. all three of us were extremely tired and were just looking for good dinner, having high expectations of this place due to the good reviews... after about 2 minutes of complete ignorance, we were taken to the table for three. the lady with an accent that had this cheeky behaviour said she's gonna bring us the drinks menu; walked back to her friend near the front door and did absolutely nothing. couple of minutes after, another waiter came over and asked what we wanted for drinks when i told him that we've never received the menu. He brought us the menu and we ordered the drinks. they came at relatively okay speed and tasted ok. After that the same waiter took our order. We didn't order very much but it took good 15-20 minutes to arrive. During the time, the lady from the front has given us a funny, arrogant look as she was walking by and then asked if we needed forks. I said no, but my friend had then told her that we do require some. That same lady then laughed, vanished and never brought us the forks. The rolls we shared were nice but the service was horrible. ended up paying Β£82 for overpriced food with like Β£7.50 'gratitude' charge for absolutely unacceptable behaviour from staff. We didn't even know that charge was included. Clearly there wasn't any good reason for 'gratitude' of that size for that kind of work. Will NOT be coming back. Don't recommend; the experience at this restaurant had left us frustrated, unwelcome and tricked for money.

β€œBeen here a few times and it never disappoints. Staff always welcoming. Service is always quick. The atmosphere is nice and chill. Went for the chicken gyozas and chicken katsu curry β€” both really good and tasted fresh. Would definitely recommend this place.”

Lush food and lovely service. The area is perfect in city center if you come through the Glasgow queen's street. The food was lovely and well priced for how much to get. My friend and I shared the starters and had our own mains and we were stuff at the end. Service was lovely, slightly slow but it was really full so completely understandable and also the dishes we ordered were presented beautifully.

Thank you Nippon Kitchen, great Japanese restaurant very close to Queen Street train station. I was there for dinner with my wife, we booked our table in advance for a Saturday night. Despite arriving 15 minutes early we were seated almost straight away no problem. I loved the decor and the food was excellent. Service was also very good but I was not convinced about the music. Look forward to another visit in the future.

Nice ambiance with a pub like vibe. Friendly staff and waiters. Simple options of Japanese food, covering the basic Japanese dishes. Interesting drinks menu with interesting cocktails. Nice starters and fresh sashimi. The rolls were average.

This is the best food we have experienced in Glasgow. So fresh and flavorful. The choices are great, plus lots of drink options. I recommend the Lychee sake martini. The restaurant and toilets are clean although located upstairs. My only gripe is the already added 10% gratuity, the experience was worth a tip but I prefer to decide how much.

Friendly and attentive staff, amazing food, quick service. We look forward to dining here again. Portion sizes are very generous, so arrive hungry or split a meal with a friend! Recommend the duck donburi and the plum wine. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Particular commendations to the lovely young Spanish/Italian waitress who helped us choose.
