We had Christmas dinner and then stayed further for drinks. Good place to meet with friends. Live music! As the bar is relatively small, it can become noisy, but a lively atmosphere! Ceilidh with live music and instructions from 8.30 pm till midnight! The dance floor is small and so expect few bumps with your next dancer!!

Had a great time with watching the Blues Band, and having a wee sing myself. I thoroughly enjoy the venue here, it's such a great old 20th century bar. The Drinks are good prices too, definitely will be a place to come to more often!

Enjoying the Saturday afternoon sessions with live Jazz. Great band, talented musicians! Seems to attract a senior crowd but they are all dancing and happy day drinking and it's sweet. Some members of the bar staff seem young unexperienced, patience may be required. I'm keen to try the food, and I hope they add beers to their tap options as they are quite basic at the time of this review!

Been in a few times during the day. Service was quick. Pint was okay, nothing spectacular. Didn't eat so that's why I didn't rate the food. This place is always busy weekends full of silver tops. Great asset to the community

Attended a poetry evening and book launch. Food was excellent! We chose from the Bar Menu, excellent prices, very tasty fajitas and chicken goujons. I would highly recommend visiting here. We intend to go one Sunday when there is live music between 2-5pm. Parking was available nearby

Avant Garde is a superior music and food venue In king st. Merchant city Glasgow. There are some interesting greek delicacies on offer alongside classic Pub favourites.A very friendly staff will direct you on a choice of craft beers and huge range of other drinks Saturday is a very busy day starting with early afternoon jazz and old time dancing going right through the evening ending with a traditional Scottish Ceilidh. Yesterday, i was privileged to sample the latest addition to the extensive menu, The Burrito Basket. A crispy flour Tortilla deep filled with Chilli, rice Guacamole, sour cream etc. Really delicious. Weekday blues and rock jams are regularly held. This is a wonderfully spacious but comfortable venue for all age groups.
