⭐ 1-Star Review – Very Disappointed Today Visited Pizza Express in Livingston today with 2 adults and 1 child, and left extremely disappointed. The restaurant was at least half empty when we arrived, yet we were told they couldn’t accommodate us due to staff breaks. As someone who has managed restaurants myself, I have never turned customers away for this reason — especially not during the busy Christmas period. Proper staffing and break management should prevent situations like this. What made it worse was how matter-of-fact it was said. No apology, no options, no customer care. Our child was clearly upset and even told the lady she’d been looking forward to pizza, but it made no difference. We were simply told we couldn’t be seated until 4:30pm, even though it was only 2:30pm. I checked the online booking system out of curiosity and could immediately book a 3:15pm table, which was instantly confirmed. So how can we be told “no tables” while online bookings are still open? What’s going on? We voted with our feet and went to Pizza Hut instead, where staff were genuinely shocked that customers were being turned away. A really disappointing experience that could have been handled so much better with a little effort, empathy, or basic customer service.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars – Exactly What We Needed After a Terrible Experience Elsewhere We ordered a pizza for collection from Pizza Express after getting sick from the other restaurant earlier in the day- Hot Flame World buffet(opposite to Pizza Express ) and honestly, this place saved us. The pizza was fresh, hot, and tasted exactly how it should. Properly cooked, good ingredients, and no issues at all. Service was quick, the staff were polite, and the order was ready on time. After feeling unwell from the previous place, finally having something safe, clean, and actually enjoyable made a huge difference. Definitely recommend Pizza Express — reliable, consistent, and worth it every time.

We were seated quickly. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all, yet it still took a long time for one starter to arrive. The main courses (pizza and pasta) were good. Overall, the food was nice, but the service was slow despite only a few tables being occupied.

Nice ambience as you walk in. We didn’t have to book a table - just walked in. Friendly staff. For starters we had palento chips served with some sort of a mustard sauce, and hawaiian dough balls (store ran out of pineapple that day). I enjoyed the Palento chips more. We had the Padana/American Hot half and half pizza. Crust was really thin and toppings full of flavour. Dessert - brownie came warm with some ice cream. I enjoyed the Stracciata and salted caramel. Dine in ✅ Take away ☑️

Went there for lunch with my girlfriend while out shopping, and I think we made a good call. The food is good, even great for a chain restaurant, and the staff were all lovely. We came in just at the start of the lunch rush so managed to get a table, but I would recommend booking in advance to be sure, but still the staff managed to find time for us whenever we needed to order anything. I got a half Florence/half goat cheese pizza (can't remember the name) and it was nice, I think I preferred the Florence one but it has an egg so probably not everyone's cup of tea. My girlfriend got the mushroom pizza (can't remember the name either) and it was really nice. Finally, we had some tiramisu for dessert, which was nothing special - a bit dry here and there but there was a few bites where the biscuit had soaked in the coffee really well and it was a lot better. I think overall the food is worth the price. If you are out shopping, I would say it's a good place to sit down and have some nice lunch while taking a break.

We went on Boxing day and didn't have to wait for long to get a table. However, we expected a bit more of toppings on the pizza we ordered. Ofcourse we could have ordered extra toppings for a price. Nevertheless we had a good experience.

Have been going here often with my family for 10+ years, my kids have all had pizza making birthday parties at some point. The food and staff have changed and not for the better. I always get the same pizza classic American so I know what to expect but this time having a burned pizza and frozen tomatoes on my bruschetta was unexpected. Maybe it was an off day but we wont be rushing back anytime soon.

This was a very pleasant visit, the staff were working incredibly hard and it was very busy for them. The food was lovely and we were served quickly and the food arrived quickly. Never disappointed with Pizza Express and this is the second time we have visited this branch and have been happy each visit, will go again.

Good food and nice atmosphere. However, I was disappointed with the Ceasar salad, the dressing did not taste great and it had a boiled egg.
