I booked a table for 7 adults to celebrate my husband's birthday. I called to push the time by 15mins which was not a problem. The service is very friendly, patient and informative. The food was excellent and enjoyed by everyone. There is plenty of choice for all tastes, the steaks were cooked to everyone's requirements. Everyone in our party really enjoyed the food and all said they would be back. I took a cake along and they brought it out to birthday music and gave us a knife and plates. I can't thank the staff enough for looking after us and making our night special. Highly recommend The Coronation Inn.

I haven’t been to the Coronation for such a long time and have been hearing really good things about it so headed there with my husband and six year old son. We had a wonderful time and all thoroughly enjoyed our food. I am all about flavour and the combo sizzler did not disappoint, it was so tasty and a very generous portion, my husband had the wagyu burger and loved it. The waiter went out of his way to ask about a special request for our son which the chef kindly made, it made a huge difference to our night and our very fussy child ate every bit of his large portion of buttered pasta and chips - thank you very much, we will definitely be back soon!

Absolutely delicious food. Portions where great, staff where friendly and attentive. I had the steak pie, it was massive and cooked perfectly. The chef’s special Oreo cheesecake is one of the best desserts I have ever had.

We went to The Coronation for a birthday meal. Food was excellent, it was good to have plenty to choose from on the new menu too. The staff were great. We'll be back.

We came here before it changed hands and we loved it so we had to have a visit to try out the new menu! The food is unreal and so tasty, the service could have been a bit faster but staff were super friendly! We had the bruschetta to start, the wagyu burger and steak pie for main then we had the mini churros to share for the dessert. Reasonably priced aswell so will definitely be back!

Small restaurant, food was fine but nothing exciting. Salmon didn't have much taste. Not cheap.

Visited during a quiet period so no comment on atmosphere. Nice food with good service and friendly staff. Good sized portions

I booked a table for 8 people for my mum's 70th birthday for a meal and I wasn't disappointed. Friendly attentive staff and the interior of the restaurant was lovely with a nice ambience..A good menu with lots of choice and a good wine list. Very generous portion sizes and beautifully presented. The waitress (young blonde girl) was just fantastic, very pleasant and helpful and nothing was too much. The prices were good and the quality of the food was good too. We will be definitely returning for family meals.

Can't do more than 3 stars. Food was OK if a little on the pricy side. The pie pastry was really nice, not sure if it was made in house though. Environment OK and warm enough - which was nice bearing in mind how cold it was outside. Staff were a bit on the slow side and inattentive. If they dropped the prices a bit and got in some seasoned waiting staff the place would be a magnet.

Went here for dinner with the family last week. We’ve been here a few times. It’s never been my favourite tbh but our last visit confirmed that we won’t be back unless they change things up. The waitresses were all very polite and smiley but the overall service was quite slow, especially when waiting for desserts. The pints of beer were disappointing. My father in-law even asked for another pint because it was flat. My starters (fried mushrooms and fried Brie) were nice enough but mains were poor. I had the coronation crepe which sounded nice but the chicken inside seemed very processed and not very fresh. I asked with garlic bread but they gave me chips. They admitted their error and gave me garlic bread. My chocolate cake for dessert was drowned in chocolate sauce which was far too much. Others in the party didn’t particularly enjoy their meal either although there were a few that did like theirs. One of the waitresses accidentally dropped a knife on me whilst collecting dishes. Tartare sauce wasn’t provided with my mother in-laws meal (which it was meant to). The vegetables looked like the ones you got in school dinners. Overall, the restaurant could do with a wee change up. The restaurant is clean and looks nice but the menu hasn’t changed in about 15 years. The meals are always bog standard or poor.
