   We went in for birthday dinner and we got the mix grill platers. Very fresh and delicious, feels like you’re literally in Turkey. We got complimentary Turkish delight with the çai !

   My girlfriend and I were walking somewhere else to get dinner but could smell how delicious it was from the corner of Newington and Salisbury. We decided to stop by and check the menu, but by the time we were across the street it was clear we were staying for dinner. We split humus and Adana. The first real meal I have had in ages. I think I had given up on what bright delicious flavors, its like seeing color for the first time. I was so excited for it my girlfriend said it was like I was discovering food for the first time ever. Bread right on the grill! The mushrooms! The sumac!! The grilled onions. The balance of savory, salty, sweet, acidic, umami: It was all so incredible If I start listing what was good about it, I would run out of room.

   I ordered the mixed kebab and the food was absolutely delicious. The meat was flavored with spices that made the taste wonderful. The starters were also excellent, and as is typical for Turkish restaurants, they offered complimentary tea. I really enjoyed the food and the staff were friendly. This will be my go to restaurant if I want grilled food and I definitely recommend going there.

   On vacation in Edinburgh l talked my wife into trying something different. Turkish food. I don’t know how authentic it was, but I will tell you it was absolutely delicious. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. One little problem, my wife does not like trying different types of food and does not like anything spicy. Somehow the food came out a little spicier than She would’ve liked. The owner was so accommodating and so kind. He took her food away took it off the bill and offered her something else. He brought her a plate of rice, some tzatziki sauce and some bread. He was very concerned that we were both happy with our experience. Turkish food may not be for her but I would certainly return here if I ever return to Edinburgh.We both left full and very satisfied. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

   I am upset that we've been to Edinburgh several times and just found this restaurant! We did the Chef Special and could not have been happier. The cold and hot starters were excellent, but the main course was spectacular. This will definitely be on our repeat list when we come back. Way more food than we could eat.

   This place is incredible!! We went for the chiefs special for £24 a head, which was a great price when you see how much food you get.... We were burst!! And it was soo tasty....in fact even the sides and vegetables where soo tasty. Ooh and the fresh Turkish bread which you get lots of too. We have been to alot of Turkish restaurants around the UK and this one was absolutely the best!! We finished up with baklava with ice-cream which again was the best we have had. The whole experience left is feeling like we where back in Istanbul!! It's nice to see a restaurant with this quality of food give you great portions sizes and good service without trying to rinse your wallet, especially in Edinburgh. We will be back!!

   The food here is amazing. The BBQ is too notch and well seasoned. Also very reasonably priced. The staff were nice and accomodating even though we went there 30 mins to closing time. The only downfall here was that the restaurant was a bit cold as they didn't seem to have any reliable heating apart from two portable heaters. Will definitely be going again.

   The best Turkish food yet! The flavours were out of this world, very generous portions! Prices are decent and very good value for money. I highly recommend Verdo!! One of the best Turkish chef in town if not in the UK!!
