This place totally nails the authentic Indian flavors! My taste buds were instantly transported back to India with every bite. It's like a culinary journey that brought back so many delicious memories. Honestly, it's been a while since I've had food this close to home. If you're craving a genuine taste of India, you've got to try this spot.
We visited this place on July 30, and from the very first moment to the final goodbye, it felt truly wholesome. The food was absolutely delicious — it reminded us of the authentic flavours of home, Nepal. It was also my friend’s birthday, and the team surprised her with a lovely gesture. I know this appreciation comes a bit late, but a huge thank you to the entire team for making it such a memorable experience.

Service That Makes You Feel Special !! From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable. The staff at Gurkha Cafe are some of the most hospitable and kind people. They were patient with our questions and made excellent suggestions. The ambience is equally lovely—very cozy and beautifully decorated. A wonderful dining experience from start to finish.
I recently visited Gurkha Cafe & Restaurant and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations. The only dish I genuinely enjoyed was the momos—they were flavorful and well-made. However, the rest of the food was underwhelming, and the overall atmosphere felt quite dull, partly due to the dim lighting. There were only two staff members on the floor, and they didn’t seem attentive, which affected the service experience. The biggest letdown was the cleanliness of the washrooms, which really needs improvement. Clean facilities are a basic expectation, and unfortunately, that wasn’t met. With some attention to service, lighting, and hygiene, the place could have potential, but as of now, I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.
The Gurka Cafe & Restaurant is an excellent Nepalese restaurant offering a good range of special dishes and traditional Indian dishes. The service is excellent - we were initially seated close to the main door which was a bit draughty and it was no bother to be moved to another table. There is a good choice of beers and wines to accompany the meals. My group of four were all delighted with our choice - so much so that we took unfinished food home in "doggy bags". There are interesting works of art throughout - even on the stairs to the toilets. The music was traditional and not at an intrusive volume.
Very good Nepalese food, deliciously spiced, which I definitely would go for again. The service was fine. The ambiance was okay. Prices a little steep but it’s located in a touristy area so that’s to be expected.
Food was amazing, not too spicy which I prefer with great flavour. The chicken was juicy, naan went perfectly with the curry. Service from the gents was alright, the lady had a much better approach but the food was amazing regardless
Very much enjoyed this place. We had outdoor seating, which accommodated 2 tables. I thought it was a tiny place but inside it's pretty large and has alot of seating! I felt like we had great table service and the food was excellent. We ordered a #3 and #4 under the Nepalese non-vegetarian section. We also ordered the Everest beer which was great.
Visited here 18/05/22 and wasn't disappointed. Food was beautifully cooked and well spiced. My wife and I went for the Nepalese choices. Will undoubtedly visit again, highly recommend it.
