   Eggs were oily and tasted as though they had been cooked in dirty oil, the butter must have been the cheapest they could get as it left an aftertaste in my mouth. the young girl and young guy serving had no people skills. I felt as though I was disturbing them by asking to be served. I can see how the food court is empty I can safely say that was the worst egg and potato scone role I have ever eaten

   Asked for toasted scones got heated. But they did toast them. But by then the coffee was cold. Took it back to be told it was the foam as he had tested it by pouring some down the sink. As half my coffee had gone he gave me it back. Told him it wasn't the foam ,he made added more water or milk told me it would be better. Was just as cold. Asked for a new one. Which he came back with dumped it on the counter with attitude. Not impressed with this customer service. Saturday 29th November 11.50.

   Our first visit although it will not be the last. We had their big club sandwich which was very good, well the scone was not the worst that we have had. Does anyone serve scones like mum used to make? Perhaps not. I do think that The Gyle Food Court is really a joke. Four units only. Chopstix, Baked Potato, Ramen&Sushi and Kitchen. No hamburger joint? No pizza joint? No Chicken joint although there is now a Nandos down stairs. I notice a lot of customers were bringing in food from elsewhere like Boots.

   Coming here really was a misfire on my part. Back when we first met, I used to take my other half out for lunch. Fast forward around 13 years later, I thought I would be all romantic by taking her out for a quick bite on her lunch break from work. The Gyle itself, especially the canteen area, is really quite grim. It is more the kind of place you would want to go to break up with someone, rather than treat them to food. I really should have done better. After looking at our options which were either the noodle place, another noodle option or the baked potato shop, we thought we would give 'Kitchen' a try. The menu board seemed to have plenty of options ranging from soup, salads, through to baked potatoes and toasties. We both opted for the lentil soup and shared a cheese and onion toastie. Once we managed to communicate our order after a bit of confusion with the till host, after 10 minutes we received our food on a tray. The brown bread served with the soup had margarine (not butter) on it and it just looked cheap and nasty. The toastie was made from the same cheap bread, thankfully the cheese on it was reasonable and had something resembling flavour. As for the lentil soup, it was absolutely vile. It tasted like tinned soup that had been watered down, it was like having covid and drinking mushed up peas. We both left it and came away feeling angry with ourselves for making such a poor dining decision. For the sake of your own sanity and general wellbeing, I would strongly urge you to avoid this place. There are thankfully better dining options in the Gyle, even the Morrison's cafe is Michelin star compared with this place. Come on Gyle, you can do better than this..

   Without any doubt the worst food my wife and I have tasted. Long wait for the food after ordering, and when it was finally ready, it was warm, not even tepid. The soup was supposed to be minestrone, but in whose universe wants green minestrone soup. The only part of our order that wasn’t disgusting, was the drinks as they sold them, not making them. Would I come here again? No, nope, never, nada, nicht

   Often go here for a sandwich or cake and tea, mostly in the evenings. The staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble for them. The food and cakes are good and the service is great. It is really great that 'The Gyle' has a place like this.

   I think this place now trades as the Kitchen and I had a really bad experience in this place a few months ago. I don't know if that's improved but I did want to put a review to highlight it to other people. The staff were bullying a younger staff member and it was just hideous and then turned on me when I tried to highlight the issue with them so ended up reporting it to Trading Standards to just get a mouthful back from them personally. Wow. Sorry if it's a different business can't find an update for the new name.

   This place has gone down hill, staff rude and unhelpful. My mum asked a women a question three times to be ignored so I went up and got ignored once. So asked louder and a tad more hacked off at this point just to get a dirty look and a shrug. What is up with your staff at the moment and plus your food has gone down hill if it isn't cold it's burnt. The kitchen staff need to get a grip.

   Completely recommend the flatbread. I had the fajita chicken and my Mum had the pulled pork. Both were excellent! Staff lovely and helpful, special thanks to Lucy (according to my receipt) who was very pleasant during a busy lunch time.
