We arrived for lunch without a booking on the Sunday before Xmas. They made accommodations for us and we all agreed it was one of the best roasts we have ever had, ever, and we know some good cooks!

Parking was tricky. The interior was really nice and had a cosy feel. Staff were friendly and helpful. Vegan hot chocolate available which was delicious. Nice venue for a catch-up. Not cheap.

The fish batter was excessively greasy and left a heavy feeling in my stomach for the rest of the day. The chips were soft and lacked any crispiness, and the cheeseburger was quite underwhelming. The waitress seemed reluctant to offer my daughter a child-sized portion from the kids’ menu. Additionally, the couch in the seating area was stained and appeared to have been wiped with a cloth rather than properly cleaned. The male toilets and baby changing facility were also unclean.

Lovely pub but sad to see staff unwelcoming to any new customers past 9pm. Cleaned coffee machine before close so no espresso martinis available and staff generally unwelcoming, questioning people clearly over 25 on age and then turning our group away because 1 of 5 (over 25) did not have ID.

A lovely, dog-friendly pub. The staff are always welcoming, and the standard of food and drink is consistently high. There is a relaxing ambiance inside and a decent outdoor space for when it's warm. We would recommend The Spylaw to anyone - especially dog lovers.

Food is a bit limited, and not a lot of choice for smaller meals as a lunch time snack, ie baked potatoes etc. It's also quite expensive, £6.50 for a bowl of soup? Service was efficient and polite.

Tasty interesting food, fitted us in without a booking on a busy Saturday, although i think we were lucky to get a table!

Really nice food, we've been here a few times now as it's fairly local for us (a nice 45 min walk). Staff are really friendly too. Unfortunately we discovered last night they no longer accept cash (unless you have the exact amount) and ask for card payment as their preferred method. OK for some I'm sure.
